So did you buy the LED bulbs from Xenondept or HID? You keep saying HID and LED interchangeably.

J-Doc did you put the LED's in the 3 and 9 position? Mine are set there and have a much better pattern than yours. Love what the HID fogs do and that is what I want them for.

I thought I put them in at the only angle allowed. There are 3 tabs on the bulb housing in a particular pattern. THe biggest tab faces down at the bottom when inserting the bulb. Then you turn the bulb to lock it into place.

I also tried rotating the bulbs to see if that affected the pattern or throw.......it did not affect it at all. Just rotated the circular patterns.

I did what other said on here and put them at 3 and 9. I did not lock them and my pattern is good and like them much better than stock. Yours look dark right on the edge of the truck on the drivers side. On the top photo you can see they are brighter than the stocks.

With my current LED fogs it helps just a little on the sides but is not needed. I'm looking forward to the new ZLED fogs and I'll just use them as brights on dark roads. I never use fogs when it's foggy and we don't get much of it anyways where I live.

Both.

LED headlights and Volt HID kit for the foglights. I don't recommend them.

Also, I think I mentioned this but the Xenon Depot website indicates the LED kit at 6000k but I received 5000k. Marked 5k on the units. I don't know if I received the wrong thing or if their website is wrong.

Which headlights did you exactly buy? I just opened my headlight package and it doesn't say any color anywhere on the box or on the package slip

Those. Look on the side of the little black box that plugs into the lights. Mine had "5k" stamped on the side.

So last night, I drove down two streetseparate and after a frustrating installation, I was in a very bad mood.

Tonight I tried to adjust the headlights by rotating them. I have not seen any notable difference.

I did drive around town more in multiple conditions. I even turned on the HID fog lights with oncoming traffic in city driving. No one flashed me which is surprising.

It seems the HID lights take about 15 seconds to warm up and reach full power. They flash like a camera flash at initial startup and make you think they popped or blew the bulbs. Then after 15 seconds or so, they shine to full power. And power is a key word. It's VERY bright.

I don't like the color. It creates a bit of a glare in my opinion. I think a 4500k would be a good compromise for my taste and my eyesight. Eyesight being a key factor. I'm 40, wear contacts, and my vision is getting worse at night. Which is why I started down this road.

On a dark road.....there is no doubt in my mind these fog lights will convert to white daylight! I will travel 5-6hrs at night this Friday. Which will be a long test ride. We shall see how the lights perform.

I'm feeling much better about the lights. Still mad about my own stupidity of feeling forced to cutting off my factory connectors. Shame on VOLT for making a product that does not have a better solution for a seemingly plug and play solution. Their "Universal" adaptor is a joke.

My mistake, I just looked and mine says the same. Making me not want to install now

Hey, you caught it before it was too late. I believe by their policy you have the right to return it. Product not as advertised. I personally prefer the 5000k color.

Oh and it's not a "simple" installation. You have to jiggle the light just right to get it to seat and insert into the projector. That and you have to remove a portion of the air intake to get to the passenger bulb. That's not easy. I gave up on removing the air box and just removed the filter and top half. I did not want to break anything and could not find a way to remove the lower half of the box easily and quickly. So good luck on the install.

Also, if you remove the trim rings on the fog lights, it's easier to get to the fog light housing and you can carefully pinch the fasteners to remove the fog light. I recommend removing the entire light housing and installing the bulbs. WAY easier and the light housing will pop back into place with some coaxing. THen snap the trim rings back into place. Much faster and easier than I did trying to install the bulbs from below. PAIN in the rear.......

Anyone tried GTR gen 2 LED kit they say more lumens than Xenon depot led and the fans and driver are all in one and fit inside the headlight cap.

I've seen the GTR lights, if you look around you can find the unbranded same models on eBay and Amazon. They are over priced imho. I have the Xenon depot and they fit in the housings with the dust caps on just fine. The issue with LEDs is that they don't reach out far on the road. I might try the 3 sided "360 degree" LEDs next. The issue with those is that you'd have to buy the extended dust caps to fit the fan behind them.

I also found the unbranded identical XD lights that are half price of Xenon Depot, half of the sale price ...

3 sided. The reviews are interesting.

There are 2014 Sierra and Silverado reviews. Dust caps don't fit. And the Sierra owner has some strange issue but likes the light.

Generic XD lights. These are interesting because you can mount the tabs to lock it in at 3 and 9 like you need them:

Generic GTR leds. I have seen them in black too.

Just ordered the xenondepot 9012-LED-HL lights and they are running a 10% off deal (Use code X10) for orders $199 and under. Took approx $12 off my order for lights so I pulled the trigger.

There is also a deal for %20 off orders $200 and over (use code X20).

Do we need any kind of canbus module or is it 100% plug and play?
