put the '15 6.2 truck to work

This past weekend had to do some projects around the house including pouring concrete apron/pad leading to my garage entry and repairing/enlarging a shed. I didn't think about it at the time, but I tallied up what I had in the bed and cab of the truck and realized I was hauling quite a bit of weight!!

14x80 lb bags of quickrete = 1,120 lbs

2x40 lb bags of crushed stone = 80 lbs

1x40' lb bag of paver sand

1x20' gallon air compressor = 110 lbs

4 2x4's 8' lengths = 60 lbs??

new husky tool chest(s) = 100 lbs??

My female dobie = 80 lbs

me = 165 lbs

my swingcase tool box = 40 lbs

new miter saw = 45 lbs

metal wheel barrow = 80 lbs +/-

That plus whatever random crap I have laying around totals up to close to 2000 lbs....to be honest you could tell it was carrying some weight but didn't really hinder acceleration or braking that much where I had to be conscious of it, I did have to take it easy over some speed bumps.

Also - no level/lift stock ride height and the rear wasn't sagging, it became close to level that was about it

Today's 1/2 ton trucks are pretty damn impressive

This thread is completely worthless without photos!

I am debating whether or not to swing the ban hammer

Nice...!!!

A 1/2 ton pickup really is a useful tool that fit's most people's needs.

My 5.3L fits all my needs, but my next truck will definitely be a 6.2L

Being able to maintain speed when hauling & trailing up hill is a definite want.

Hmmm. Well since this became a thread without pics.. I pulled a broken down semi with a trailer 80,000 lbs through 50 states on 1 tank of gas. And I didn't use tow haul either.

Haha I have some pics actually- ill post later today, not best quality I just. Happened to take them @ the time to send to my buddy who drives a ram and bust his chops a little (they can't take as much weight in the bed w/ the air ride and coil overs)

Max tow package?

Either way, these truck are still very impressive!! Although according to some, they are barely fit for groceries

No max tow, and here are some pics....since I didn't think I'd be interrogated about the legitimacy of the payload they're not the greatest and I don't have one of the "final" load w/ everything in lol! - you can tell I have at least 6 of the 80lb bags of concrete in there, but actually there is a total of 8 in that row then I started stacking them toward the tail gate in the empty space you can see, then threw the wheelbarrow on top of all of it,....also threw in a pic of the project as well.

What exhaust do you have?

Gibson - extremely happy w/ it. 409 stainless tubing 304 polished tips, fit perfect, mandrel bent, no leaks, made in America.

On a muscle car or my Z06 I'd splurge for full 304 SS exhaust (actually in the case of my Z I would never touch the stock TI catback but would only run 304 stainless headers/mids) - however on a truck where "show queen" looks and the last tenth of performance is not a priority I am totally fine w/ 409 stainless w/ the 304 tips. NO F'N WAY would I spend $1000-$1500 on a damn borla/corsa/slp exhaust on a truck.

There is also no drone and it sounds mean as hell.
