Check Engine light blinking

I had recently bought an '01 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 5.3l. And everytime I'm on the highway the check engine light starts flashing periodically. But when I'm on the back roads is completely fine. Is it something with the emissions bs or what?

Flashing CEL is a misfire. Whether the CEL stays on afterwards or not, there's certainly a problem causing the misfire.

It turned on and stayed on yesterday, so what may cause the misfire?

I just replaced both wires and plugs with acdelco, and she's still misfiring!

Could be an issue with a coil pack. My truck has had the light flash a few different times now while I was on the interstate. I replaced the ground from the battery to the engine, and it hasn't happened again. Yet...

Well it only doesn't it at highway speed, and she's apparently misfiring on 4 cylinders. But where is the ground from the battery and how to I replace it?

The ground I replaced is the main one for the battery. Mine runs down to the engine block, and then a smaller wire is part of it too, but it goes to the front of the truck. I'd probably check all your grounds and make sure they're clean and tight before replacing though.

Ok, hopefully I can get to it this weekend. Bc I rather replace the ground than replace 8 coil packs bc 4 are misfiring

Did it throw a code? I know both times mine did it, there was nothing stored.

I have to go on tomorrow and get it scanned. I don't own a code scanner
