I appreciate the work that they've put into those trucks.

Me too, but there's a point when a lift starts to become ridiculous. I love trucks and mud tires as much as the next guy, but I respect functionality more than show.

There nothing but 2 pieces of junk, good for nothing but riding down the road saying "look at me look at me" you cant do nothing with them and the getto big rims are well I"LL keep that to myself. What is it with these big rims and small low profile tires on a 4x4 truck? It takes away of what the truck is suppose to be able to do.

I could be mistaken but I'm almost positive I saw this car many years ago in San Antonio @ USA Motorsports.

Looks dumb IMO..

I just don't get it, pretty soon were going to see lifted trucks with 33" rims. LAME!!

But hey at least it will look "cool" driving to and from Star Bucks, that seems to be the hang out for these types of trucks..

I think they are cool in their own way. All custom(anything) trucks are subjective - not my style but to each his own. TO me any extreme vehicle looks kinda funky including the pre-runners posted (What your cool if you drive that but not the lifted wagons?). I am from california and that is not the norm here(Way more pre-runners driven by equally or more douchey dudes, a lot with flat billed hats). Those are more of a vegas disco trucks, I see a lot of crap modded trucks coming out of the south and midwest too so, like I said to each his own. Mud and exo cages look just as lame to me or johnny off road, hell buy a buggy and really be fast. It's all poser stuff, wannbe what? Robby Gordon? Snoop Dog? who?still poser either way. Not into rubber bands but the big truck looks kinda cool to me. I can appreciate different things, just like a 2wd street truck lowered with turbos, not my taste but still cool. and the farther you take it, cool! Just not me,(Anything well thought out/engineered to work is cool in my book) I wouldn't spend that kind of cash. But don't hate on it because internet consensus says so.

I don't have a problem with the trucks themselves....to each their own. It's just the 2 clowns acting like idiots that pushed me over the edge. I guess I don't get the whole "look at me, I have a small weiner....." lifestyle. My 3/4 ton truck compensates enough without having a lift kit! Haha!

To be fair, I think I'm just getting old. Looking back, if I had the money as a kid I could see me and my friends doing stuff like this. But we didn't have the cash. We were lucky if one of us had a tank of gas and we were able to scrape up enough change to get Taco Bell on Saturday night!

Not sure if it's just because I live in a more prosperous area now, or if kids really have this much more money than they did when I was growing up - which to be honest wasn't that long ago. Perhaps it's always been like this and I was just in an area that wasn't, but it blows my mind to see the cash parents give to their kids these days. Or maybe these guys are just smarter than me and got a better summer job than I did. I don't begrudge them for being more successful / lucky / whatever than I was (am), but now I'm old enough I just don't get excited about superfluous stuff on cars/trucks and showboating for everyone like I would have 20-25 years ago. Now, if they were building a killer stock portfolio / retirement plan...

    • Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.
    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE.
