Bed LED wiring question

Ordered an oem perimeter bed lamp kit and it has a 6 prong plug. Going into the fuse block on the drivers side there is an 8 prong plug.

Has anyone plugged this kit in before? There were no instructions in the box so I'm hoping theres another fuse block and I can't find it... Already at war with the ebay seller for selling me the wrong harness.

To my knowledge oem bed light kits plug into a socket behind the rear bumper

There is a harness block thats pre-wired, with other harnesses in it located between the spare tire and rear bumper. I belive there is a dummy cap over the plug which u have to remove to plug in the oem harness.

Should be plug-n-play

I just did mine its really easy, just behind the spare tire off to the driver side is the block there are two dummy plugs, pull the one that matches the the plug for the led lights. there is no need to drop the spare take off the tail lights with a t10 torques bit fish the wires through the top of the bed rails there are two hole on each side were the metal clips go to secure the bolts for the led's (8mm i think) under the bed are the holes ( you might need a flash light) to secure the wire to the body just push them in,the clips on the wires should line up pretty close. takes around 15min

Yup I popped the dummy caps off and it doesn't fit... From what I read it is the far right dummy cap that is white. The cap is an 8 pronged cap but the harness for the lights is 6 prong.

Sorry, u said "fuse block" so i thought u were running up to the cab. But that is a weird one

From the looks of the picture the plug is an 8 prong? You had no problem with this item fitting your truck?

My truck came with this kit installed. I ordered a second kit to,use the LEDs as add on lights so that I now have 4 LEDs. The 8 prong plug is used on the 2014 Silverado. This was all that was offered at the time.

Did you just splice the wire and add the lights? That is exactly what I am looking to do....

I spliced the wire on each side at the existing light to extend the string. I was going to splice the harness where it goes up to the bed through the tail light housing, but I already had my Bedrug and bed sealer kit in place. So it was easier to just extend on each side at the current light fixture.

Seller sent me the 6 way and it was advertised for fitting 14-16. Won't accept return so I am stuck with a kit that fits a 16 and not my 15.
