Bed LED wiring question

Use the dummy plug - drill out the needed locations and pull out the wires and pins from your 6 way plug and shove them in the 8 prong dummy.

Sorry you have to go through the hassle but it may be your only choice if you want to use it.

Otherwise sell it off to a 2016 owner in the marketplace here.

If you opt for the drill and shove method, be aware that the terminals are different from '14/15 to '16. Not sayin' it won't work but GM service info shows different test probes for checking the terminals. Whatever you do, make sure it is weather tight!

Seller sent me the 6 way and it was advertised for fitting 14-16. Won't accept return so I am stuck with a kit that fits a 16 and not my 15.

I had the same exact problem and ended up drilling out the dummy plug and purchasing new terminals because I couldn't get the old ones out undamaged. Here are some links that might be helpful.

Well, I ordered a kit also. The kit came with a 6 prong plug but my dummy plug is 8. I have a 2016.. I thought it was supposed to be a 6 prong... really confused...
