Why no 6.2l RCSB option?

Well, the difference between 5.3 and 6.2 isn't impressive at all! RCSB with 5.3 and 8spd is fine with me!

But I would definitely buy CCSB with 6.2L LT4 engine (corvette Z06 engine). 650hp worth the extra bucks! otherwise I will stick with 5.3L W/ 8speed transmission

I don't think they are putting the 8 spd in a rcsb.

Warranty. Cut n' dry. They know people will only buy this combo to beat the piss out of it.

That leaves them (GM) with two options and us (the end user) with one option:

1) Lose many many $1000s of dollars in lost revenue from annihilated drivetrains

2) Sell a truck with no drivetrain warranty which, lets be honest, no one would go for.

3) Build it yourself and drive a unique truck that no one else will have the chance to enjoy just because they have a 650+ credit score :/

NO, it has everything to do with CAFE. The biggest engine in the smallest truck takes the worst CAFE hit. Remember, the newer CAFE rules go by vehicle footprint - RCSB is smallest footprint.

Convinent for them, since they dont offer it in a qc configuration either....

Unless you buy a bunch of shit you dont want.

Well, if it was easily available to everybody, then sales numbers would go up and CAFE would go down. It still comes down to CAFE.

What do you guys think SB stands for - Standard Box? Then what is the abbreviation for Short Box?

Posted

SB = Shorter Bed = Regular Bed

LB = Long Bed

You can't get the Shortest Bed with the Regular Cab - only on the CC. Last edition of the trucks you could get the Shortest bed with a DC, but not anymore (I think).

SB = Short bed (5'8")

Standard bed ( 6'6")

LB= Long bed (8') (in a 1500 it's currently only available as RCLB)

Trivia bit:

5'8" bed length selected so the 'new' at the time, CC 1500 would have the same wheelbase, and fit in the same garages and parking spots as the then massively poplar extended cab with the 6'6" box.

Prior to this the LB was 8' and a SB was 6.5' and the 5'8" did not exist.

OK so SB = Short bed - especially CCSB since that's the only way a SB comes.........

Correct, but people love to use the term RCSB and they're talking about the 6'6' bed not the 5'8" bed.

2017 CCSB: 143" WB - 230" overall length
