Catch Cans Void Warranty?

I have been reading the several threads on catch cans here on this forum and it almost seems essential to install one for engine longevity on these new 5.3's.

My only concern is will installation of a catch can void my powertrain warranty? That would make no sense to me if i did because the catch can is actually benefitting the motor but who knows.

No, and if they tried to say anything I'd ask them to prove how it's causing harm.

I read on Camaro5 forum where GM voided a warranty for a catch can being installed and they blamed the catch can for the oil pressure loss and engine failure.

GM cant "void" your entire warranty because you have done modifications yourself. they can only "void" warranty claims. Its a common misconception that dealers spread that manufacturers can void your entire warranty. it is just not true. adding a oil catch can should not void any potential warranty claims. The responsibility is up to the dealer to prove that the modifications you have done has caused damage to the vehicle.

This applies to ALL of the manufacturers of ALL products:

 

 It is in the manufacturers best interest to void as many warranties as possible. Making you think the warranty is voided is basically the same thing as actually voiding it.
