As the title says. What's your best in regards to most miles on one tank of gas. I'm granny footing this tank fill up right to see what I get. 2016 z71 5.3. I believe 24 gallon tank. My first 3 fill ups got me to around 400, little less probably. I'm seeing my best mpg this fill up. Have about 1100 miles on the truck, best 25 mile was 25.5. Anybody get to 500? How about 600?

My goal is 300 per tank.

Pretty sure it is a 26 gallon tank? I have got 450 on my denali. I would guess most people fill up with 3-4 gallons left in their tank

I'm gonna fill up this tank when the light comes on , or just prior depending where I am. Hoping for at least 450-500

Not me I fill up when at half a tank and never less then 1/4 a tank don't want all that crap from the bottom of my gas tank plugging up my fuel system. Learned the hard way with my 2012 Tahoe wrecked an injecter because of sediment in the bottom of the tank when the girlfriend ran it with the gas pump light on for a day. Also not sure on these new trucks if these fuel pumps need fuel on them to keep them cool so they don't overheat like some vehicles in the past did. Just my 2 cents.

When I run up to family in Canada I refuse to buy gas up there, 220 miles one way depends on what we do, and what route, usually ends up around 450 and takes 21/22 gallons, flat ground no wind I would think 480-520 miles, but u better know where that gas station is, I always bring a 2.5 gallon can with me in case one if the border crossings is backed up

Looking at my fill up records on Fuelly.com, in the last year I have 4 fill-ups in the 450 range, 3 in the 464-466 range.

The majority of my tanks were in the 380-410 range.

Most of that I'm getting 20/22 mpg, and it's bone stock for now.

Not trying to sound negative, please don't take it this way, but ^ info is incorrect, way off target.

1st On all modern vehicles esp... the 2012's GMT-900 we have fuel buckets, the pump is isolated from the tank via the bucket, there is a tube/inlet system that "always" pulls fuel from the bottom of tank (same concept like drinking from a straw in a cup, pulling liquid from the lowest possible point) it feeds the pump to keep the pump "always" submerged in fuel to cool it, btw fuel running through the pump also cools it, hence aftermarket external high volume pumps. (a pump being fully submerged in fuel is not a requirement, we will get to this later below on the DI engine pumps.

2nd, there is pre filter in the bucket (from being a tech, I would say they are done after about 80,000-100,00 miles), additionally we have an normal fuel filter after the pump, this is what saves the injectors & the new GM DI engines cam driven fuel pump. After pump filters are required, b/c in reality fuel pumps self destruct and metal shavings can go into the fuel line, far more worse than sediment in dirty fuel. (as both the pre-filter and after pump filter get old, they do filter less and less, the material filter becomes stopped up, or the filter fails and allows material to by-pass, replacement and proper maintenance is critical, just like oil & oil filters)

GM DI cam driven fuel pump (external engine mounted pump, lots of heat), not sure if GM has filter after this pump, my guess is no. (these engines have 2 pumps, in-tank electric pump & high pressure engine pump to supply those DI/injectors)

You more than likely trashed an injector/pump b/c of the lack of fuel filter replacement, or a factory defect not b/c you let the fuel get low.
