Max Tire size on a Stock Height 2015 2500HD

Im running 275/65/20 Cooper Stt Pro. stock height and good bit of room. You shouldnt have any issue with 285/65.

I'm running 35x12.5x20 Maxxis Buckshot 2.. no lift, no level.. cranked torsion bars 7 turns.. went up 1".. awesome tires.. 5 stars... had some snow and it ate it up like nothing..

285 75r18 on 18x9 with a +12 offset, the offset had me switching the stock keys for aftermarket torsion bar keys, so I could get the tire off the front mud flap at full lock.

What steps are these? Truck looks good!

Thanks man, Chassis Unlimited rock sliders, welded on. They are pure beef, rock solid steps, way over kill. Side crash protection might or might not be better...

I like them, no one else has them, they're 7 feet long, grip tape on the back to help get into the tool box with out slipping. There's like 500 lbs of added metal to the truck in this phone picture, put on Bilstein 5160's on the front, and they are great.

Signed up just to put this to rest. I took the plunge and put Nitto Ridge Grapplers on today in 285/65R20. Stock Duramax Denali wheels, no lift, no level, I only removed the lower air dam/valance. Zero rubbing at lock, forward or reverse, and no crank on the T bars

Hey guys,

I wanted to add my recent setup for reference.

2015 2500HD LT CCSB

Bars cranked up 2” and will be adding blocks in rear next to add a little more rake.

20x10 (-24) Anthem Off-Road A712 Defenders wrapped in Toyo Open Country RT’s in 305/55R20LT.

Trimmed lower valence and front bumper where it meets the valence. Need to work on the fender liner front and rear of the front well and trim front factory mud flaps up near their innermost mounting point. Should be good to go after that.

Keys are cranked almost all the way so I may go with an aftermarket key set. I also have front shock spacers and a front differential drop spacer kit to install.

Interestingly, BFG 285/65/20 are a 34.5x11.20 equivalent, while BFG 35x12.50 are truly 34.5x12.50 (BFGs website shows their 35s being 34.5" in diameter).

Thanks, I really like it.. worth every penny.. it actually drives really good.. I did a lot of research, and you're right.. they want you to put a 4" lift to fit them.. but that isnt needed.. Im sure mine works because I am running the stock 20's.. aftermarket have a different offset and it might cause the rub on the front bumper.. and if it did, I would shave down the bumper.. I dont know if I can go anything less than 35's after this..

That's good to hear, though somebody else on duramax forum is saying I need a 2" level to run them. In the interim, I did find this truck sitting on 285/65/20 BFGs and it claims to have some sort of level, though it appears to be quite subtle. I wonder if they would fit at stock stance. My truck has a good bit of rake.

the closer and closer you get to that somewhat unreliable/unknown max tire size (everybody seems to say something different), do take into account the tire manufacturer as you know- some run larger and smaller etc.
