It isn't generic salesman speak. Its actually generic physics.

Either way, I couldn't publish a dyno sheet. Then I would be liable for anybody with a slightly less result.

I apologize for creating a ruckus. I am really here to help anybody with a faulty system or something they are unhappy with.

Although, I was a customer service liazon for a long time, that is much easier handled through a phone call or direct email than through forum threads. I am more than happy to help anyone resolve an issue with their borla system here, but any other technical/ customer service issues should resolved directly. My contact information is in my signature. Thank you.

Just so you know for future reference, a technical explanation on the internet consisting of "It's Physics" is akin to waiving a big red banner with the words "I've never actually taken a Physics class!" imprinted on it as most who have don't speak in such a manor (we understand how meaningless the statement is). I'm sure that's not the case here but thought I should let you know.

Of course that's just silly. Lots of aftermarket companies publish dyno sheets, including those for 5.3 cat-back systems.

Keep in mind, the OP asked about putting a stock 6.2 catback (which while "larger" has a pretty restrictive muffler, a neck-down to 3" for the AFM valve so it's far from "open") on a 5.3 with headers.

While I certainly wouldn't try to sell him one saying he'd gain much, if anything over a 5.3 exhaust on that engine, the idea that he'd loose any noticeable amount of low-end torque is something one would say after actually observing it on a dyno to have any credibility.

So I have a question, I have a 2014 Silverado with a 5.3 found a hell of a deal on a Corsa Performance Exhaust but it’s for a 6.2 would this have any cons if I was to have them install it?

you'll probably loose your low torque curve on the 5.3 if you run 6.2 exhaust

Was reading that, ? that applies even with aftermarket exhaust?

aftermarket 6.2 exhaust outflows the oem 6.2 system , i would just go with aftermarket muffler , no sense in making it a a high powered revver for street duty. otherwise use a stock 6.2 exhaust thats more restrictive than aftermarket but flows more than the 5.3 exhaust

No, 6.2 exhaust wont work on a 5.3. Unless you swap in a gm 6.2 y-pipe.

6.2 y-pipe goes from 3 to 3 1/2

5.3 y-pipe stays at 3

At least I think that's how it works. I know you can run kooks 6.2 headers with their 5.3 y-pipe on a 5.3, but cant do that on a 6.2

I was just gonna take it to the muffler shop and have them either weld it or see what they could do, would rather swap my y-pipe to the 6.2 if that would make it fit correctly

if you gonna do it right, get a set of Doug Thorly Tri-Y headers designed for making torque on the 5.3, then work back from there..

How much is that? I have a summit racing maybe 30min from me they usually carry everything you can think of.
