Cooper Discoverer AT3 tanked my fuel mileage

I have a 2014 Silverado LT Dbl cab, 4WD, 5.3L w/tow pkg, stock tire size: P265/65x18. Gas mileage with the original Good for a Year tires was 22-24 mpg at 65mph. I replaced the original tires with P-series Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires, but stayed with the same size. Today at a steady 65mph it struggled to get to 17 mpg. My tires were even 3 psi above the door sticker since I was on my way to get my camper from winter storage, very flat terrain, & no wind. This was my mileage without towing anything. This has been constant since I got these tires about 3 weeks ago. These tires do have a more aggressive tire tread, but JEEZ......

I have same tire but 20". The mpg stayed about the same for me. Maybe just slightly less.

Update: At approximately 30k miles, I replaced my air filter. Much to my surprise my mileage went back up to where it used to be. Old filter needed changing but wasn't horrible either. still ran great. Let the motor breath & it's happier. Imagine that!!!

I was worried about possible mileage loss but with AT3S on my 20s. Lower valence removed and bed packed full of camping gear I just recently got 19.3 during a trip north. So I'm still happy.

I have the at/w which is the AT/3 but with severe snow rating. I am pretty impressed, I keep the at 40-45psi. I like these better than the at/3 I had on my old colorado

I had AT3's for a while and I can attest. Mileage was bad. I ended up trading them for some BFG A/T KO2's and the mileage went up. Not to mention the KO2's are 10x better in any wet condition compared to the AT3's.

That's strange I could get 20 MPG plus with my AT3s? 275/60/20

I put the at3 on my 07. Mileage was the same as the michillen street ties that I had in their before

I'd like to average 17. Not sure how y'all get these high mpg...mine never broke 20 on a tank even when it was bone stock. 20K miles...lifetime average is 15.5mpg. Runs like a top and dealer maintained.

Same here. I guess our trucks are brothers, because I've yet to break 20 mpg with cruise set on flat ground road trip. Stock wheels/tires. Lucky to get 18.

I ran AT3's in load range E on my 2002 model with no real loss in gas mileage.

I get somewhere from 15.5-17.5 or so since I put on AT3's with my '14 5.3L. Thinking of going with Mastercraft CXT when I get my new wheels in a couple weeks. It's either that or putting the AT3's on my new wheels and getting new snows this fall

My F150 crewcab 4x4 came out with 275/65/18 Goodyear fortitudes on it and I was averaging 20-23, I've put 305/60/18s and now I average 14-17. I'm going back to stock size to get mpg back, but was thinking about the at3s. Just don't know if mpg would still hit 20-22..
