In a previous post I stated that I had chose a Crew over a double cab, the dealer told me he was going to order the truck with options to my liking...which was dandy.

Well guess what he was out of allocations and I had my 14' Sierra sold( the buyer was willing to wait the 6-8 weeks required) and now I learned I can't get my 2016 Silverado LTZ. I even called GM if they couldn't help a 30 year customer and they said " allocations are allocations" in other words NO!!!!!

 

Had in mind I was going to drive a new Silverado LTZ in 2 months.....BOOOOOOAH!

GM allocates so many trucks to a certain dealer and I believe that dealer has been allocated their share and cannot order any more.

Thanks. You would think GM would be willing to sell a vehicle to a paying customer no matter what.... kinda dumbfounded by such a practice. Hey Goose Hunter any trucks on the Ford or Ram lot?

I wonder if Ford does the same? Just saw that the F-150 is selling strong once again, maybe you should have mentioned that to GM. Lol!

Kinda dumb in my book you have a customer in your building and you can't sell them a truck...go figure!

Find another dealer. I saw something in the auto news today about GM working on inventory control, but allotments are ridiculous.

Why do you continue to use that dealer? If truly a 30 year customer - not 1 truck every 30 years - the dealer should be willing to bend over backwards to kiss your a$$!

 

Sounds to me like he is more interested in shaking every last penny from your pockets rather than place you in the vehicle that you really want! What's wrong with him being willing to eat his hold back, dealer prep on the vehicle by contacting another dealer for an accommodation from his allotment or vehicle swap in which case his holdback goes with the swap? My dealer was not only willing to do that but called his multi-dealership owner for authorization to give me the "Internet"price offered by another dealer plus an extra $500 for the trade just to keep my loyalty.

Sales guys around here know that if a customer walks out that door, 90% chance sale is lost.

Would so go find the LTZ you want elsewhere this weekend & bring it by their dealership to say hello.

I hear you, I hear you.The Crew cab I wanted was LTZ/1LZ....Leather bucket seats,6" steps. Spray on bed liner and bed lights ( 18 " wheels) nothing special about this truck.But that's what I want, I forgot to specify Silver Metallic.....But they are few and far between around here!!!

I got news late this afternoon that my issue was resolved Yahoooo! Order is suppose to go thru this weekend and will have truck in 6-8 weeks......Also I would like to thank all your input and ideas you posted!!!! Think my dealer punched in a favor owed from an affiliate dealer.
