snowman44 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Just picked up my midnite and think red calipers would break up the black and set it off. Truck is brand new so calipers are clean. Can I paint them on the truck after I out on lift and take wheels off?ANy suggestions on what to use to cover rotor ?
Marticus Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Funny I just painted up the new calipers for my car and decided I would do the truck too. I have spray cans because I normally paint them before installing (C3 corvette calipers give you lots of practice) so I will remove mine from the truck. If you want to do it with them installed just buy the brush on kit and you will be fine. Duplicolor part # BCP400. You can use a grocery bag to cover the rotor.
Daryl LBZ Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I would clean the caliper good with some brake cleaner first before adding any paint.
Marticus Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 You don't have to worry about cleaning the rotor. The duplicolor kit comes with a cleaner to use on the caliper. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

If you don't want to paint your calipers you can put on black covers instead of red ones. http://www.chevymall.com/mobile/2014-2016-Silverado-1500-Caliper-Covers-Red-or-Black/productinfo/AN603/

Road debris can collect between them and the calipers and cause issues. Plus it is obvious they are covers when you look at them. I always thought it looked cheap even though they aren't. Once the rain stops and I can paint mine ill post some pics.
RyanbabZ71 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I have used the G2 kit on my truck (red) and camaro (gray) Both came out great and have held up well Ryan
Marticus Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Finally got new brakes. Have always planned on EBC in the past but have a supplier pushing PowerStop. Went with the drilled and slotted rotors and Z36 pads. I removed the calipers to paint with Duplicolor caliper paint. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
