Would you trade your 14+ for a Ford?

I'm going to bow out. The GMC is a nice truck and it is nothing to be ashamed of. It just doesn't have enough options available for what I want. I've spoiled myself over the years and I just don't want to accept less when there is an alternative that I like. I did the same thing with my latest Corvette. Sure the base is a fine car but the Z06 with the Z07 option adds more. I made the decision to go with the Z06. Same thinking between the Denali Ultimate and the F150 King Ranch. The Denali is a fine truck, the King Ranch offers more "stuff" and that determined which one I bought.

Y'all have a good one. Maybe next time the GMC or Chevy will win for what I want.

You don't have to justify your decision to go with a Ford to anyone. It's true the current F-150 has more available luxuries than the GM. I'm sure GM will add more items in the upper trim trucks next go around. I think the GM trucks are great, but because of the bankruptcy of 2009 limited money was available for devolpment; perhaps on the next redesign. Anyways, enjoy your truck, I have several friends who have the new F-150 and love them.

After all the problems I've had on my 3 K2 trucks, I would very heavily consider ford as my next truck.

I've owned GMs for years n years, the LSx powertrain was and still is excellent, heck, I think the new DI engines are good, but reliability and quality control from GM just seems to have fallen off.

My 2nd k2 was repurchased (my 1st was traded after the transmission failed) by gm for differential problems, my 3rd has the differential problem AND a rough idle/wobble at highway speeds. Every road is a gravel road, basically.

I will take the truck in for warranty when I have time, but I'm so exhausted by all of this I just want it to be over. I've barely even driven my own vehicle in the last 4 months.

It may be many years before I do anything, but I will look at alternatives (Ford, Toyota) BEFORE I consider another GM truck, I'm sad to say.

Never was a big fan of the Ford interiors. That alone would keep me from buying any type of Ford.

I hate to say it but now that I have had 7 months in my 2015 Sierra, I don't like it as much.

My biggest pet peeve is the lack of visibility at the top of the drivers view. The angle of the windshield is just too much, the roof is too low. Hell the overhead console is only like 10 inches from the dash! No sunroof option in my double cab, while Ford owners get a basically full roof of glass which is something only found in luxurious vehicles. I went and looked at a 2016 F150 yesterday and it had a ton more room and had far better visibility than these new GM trucks too.

I swear GM is making the cabs smaller from generation to generation, or is it just me?

What to do what to do.

I just traded my 2015 Crew Cab Lariat for a new Silverado. The Ford is nice, but the quality is far lacking. Tows horrible, and the new ones are just plagued with problems. Had it 6 months and was sick of it...and I was always a Ford guy. Not anymore.

Nice truck! And welcome to the Chevy Family. Somewhere around 2008-2009 everybody decided in URBAN LEGAND that Ford was a better vehicle than Chevy or FORD over GM.

Look it was the same then as it is now....It's just not the case granted they both are building much better products but after 3-4 years that Chevy will have rewarded you much better than the Ford on all levels. Dang I really like the new Chevy style

I love reading the continuing battle sparked by brand loyalty! Compelling arguments can be made in favor of Ford, GM or RAM. Each manufacturer is trying to make a product that appeals to the greatest number of buyers. This is an extremely difficult task as we all have different tastes and needs. I believe asking about Fords on a GM forum provides an opportunity to reflect on why we chose GM over the others. I chose a GM truck because I think they are the best looking truck inside and out. They are quiet, comfortable and I prefer the engine choices. I do like seeing so many Fords and RAMS on the road as they serve as a constant reminder of how much I prefer my truck and that I made the right choice!

Competition is good for the truck market, when Ford puts out a better product it forces GM to do one better. Iron sharpens iron and it benefits the customer overall. If Ford and Ram takes a dump, what will cause GM to make a better product, case in point Toyota with the compact truck market...10 years without any significant improvement.

Honestly, I know my interior is far nicer than the Dodge, but, the dodge is the only truck with full electronic lockers, front and rear, factory installed, front winch and remote sway bar disconnect. It's the most capable off-road ready truck out there, but the interior needs a refresh. I may not pull the trigger on it since my interior quality is much higher.

It's the most capable off-road ready truck out there, but the interior needs a refresh. I may not pull the trigger on it since my interior quality is much higher.

Exactly why I didn't even test drive the Dodge (let's call it what it is ). The interior was so cheap and chincy compared to my Silverado. No comparison at all.

But, you have to get what you like best. That's why they build them. They are all good trucks, imo. I just personally prefer Chevrolet and Ford.
