Buy what you want, but I've always had full size Chevys and always will.

 

The bad thing about Ford is that they're pushing that Ecoboost way to much. You can't even get a V8 option in the 1/2 tons anymore, at least last I knew. Also you tend to get higher trims for the features you could get in a mid trim in a GM or Dodge. In my opinion, you just get less for what you pay for with a Ford. I mean when I worked at the dealer that I bought my truck from someone bought a Platinum F250 with the Powerstroke for $68K and not long after someone got a 3500 Dually Crew Cab High Country for the same price. By the way, the dealership carried all domestic brands except GMC and Buick so it was easy to compare brand for brand.

 

 

I'd like to add that I don't hate Ford or Dodge/Ram. When I was younger I was close minded and thought anything that wasn't a GM was a POS. I'm in general a domestic guy while being a loyal Chevy guy. The only Ram I would consider is if I needed a diesel truck to tow almost 100% of the time I would rather have the Cummins. As for Ford, the only thing that catches my eye is some Mustangs, especially the classic ones and the 5.0 Fox body. I love classic muscle cars and like just about all of them.

You've got an SLT. Have you adjusted the seat lower?

 

Have you move the steering and pedals back so you can slide the seat back and lower?

I felt like OP until I figured this out. Best thing ever.

 

And I came from a 2013 Ford Mustang that had a plethora of issues. It's was junk, utter junk. I liked the 5.0 but even that started ticking at around 14k miles. FORD, never again.

I have been trying to find a seat adjustment that works for me but I always seem to get a sore back no matter how I adjust it.

 

The problem I have found with lowering the seat all the way to the bottom is that it only really lowers the rear. With the front of the seat all the way down, and the rear all the way down, the front of the seat is still substantially higher than the rear. This creates pressure on the back side of my legs just behind my knees, if the trip is long enough they start to get sore or sometimes numb feeling. I am 6'3 and I feel like a giant in this truck. I always feel like I just cannot stretch my legs out far enough and my head is at the very top of the windshield. When I pull up to traffic lights, I literally have to lean forward and peek "around" the roof to see if the light has changed or not.

In short, No. I sat in a new 15 F150 platinum in April. Also, I like ford and Chevrolet. The F150 was very nice and not taking anything away from the ford, the interior was nice and it seemed like a good truck, but did it make me feel like I had to run over to my local ford dealer and dump my Silverado?

 

No. Not all. I think our trucks are just as nice as the ford's. Nicer in some ways too.

"Peek" around the roof to see the light? Not to be a smart a$$ but it sounds like you're pulling up to far. Stay behind that white line they paint on the road and you'll be fine :-)

Reach for the front button that you slide forward to move the seat forward. Ok now push straight down on the back edge of that same button so the button tilts. That will lower the entire seat together.

In our business it does not matter whether you get a Ford or a Chevy each one has things wrong with it that need to be fixed.

You need to look at the adjustments more maybe. I'm 6'3 235 and I feel lost in this truck, ton of room, no sunroof but I dont know how much difference that makes in the new GM trucks. I can adjust the front of the seat level with the rear all the way down. I dont even have the seat all the way down..

 

I have no problem seeing the lights, now my C7 Corvette I hurt my neck if I'm the first one at a stoplight looking under the visor to see the light change..

 

I havent been in the new F150 but the 2013 F150 CC I had seemed tiny inside compared to this one. But everyone is different and we all dont like the same things, only bad thing is with new cars/trucks it costs a lot of money to change your mind soon after you buy it. Since 2009 I have had three new 1500 Ram crew cabs, one ecoturd Ford and two GMs (I buy a new truck every year). They all have their good and bad points, I still like the Rams best but this latest GMC is pretty decent. Hated the Ford, it was OK but the powertrain was garbage, until they put larger V8s back in I will not buy one.

I'd like a Ford aluminum body with a GM motor and Ram coil spring rear suspension. I had a Ram 1500 regular cab with the coil springs and it made a believer out of me. My new GMC is sure quiet and I got a good deal so I'm not complaining, but yeah, I'd switch if the competition was better.

 

But I'd never buy another Cummins. I had a 2007 when they just came out with the new 6.7 and it was horrible. Ran perfectly but 16 check engine lights in 27k miles. Two turbos with a code for a third. Chrysler showed some integrity and they bought it back (actually they let me pick any new Chrysler vehicle with the same MSRP so I got a new Challenger R/T).

Are you kidding me the interior and exterior of my truck are so far ahead of the Ford in my opinion. Not to mention I just don't like ford trucks they have always been second class to chevy in my experience.( and not I am not anti-Ford my wife drives a Focus titanium and I really like it )

 

But hey if thats what your into go buy a Ford and you can whine about it on the Ford forum.
