Would you trade your 14+ for a Ford?

I hate to say it but now that I have had 7 months in my 2015 Sierra, I don't like it as much.

 

My biggest pet peeve is the lack of visibility at the top of the drivers view. The angle of the windshield is just too much, the roof is too low. Hell the overhead console is only like 10 inches from the dash! No sunroof option in my double cab, while Ford owners get a basically full roof of glass which is something only found in luxurious vehicles. I went and looked at a 2016 F150 yesterday and it had a ton more room and had far better visibility than these new GM trucks too.

 

I swear GM is making the cabs smaller from generation to generation, or is it just me?

 

What to do what to do.

Sorry you couldn't give me a Ford. Well, you COULD, but I'd sell it ASAP. Quite frankly I think this generation of GM trucks is bit bigger than those GM trucks of say, 10 years ago or so. YMMV.

Why agonize over it, get the Ford if you like it better. No reason not liking what you are driving, nice thing is you have a choice.

Buy what you want, but I've always had full size Chevys and always will.

 

The bad thing about Ford is that they're pushing that Ecoboost way to much. You can't even get a V8 option in the 1/2 tons anymore, at least last I knew. Also you tend to get higher trims for the features you could get in a mid trim in a GM or Dodge. In my opinion, you just get less for what you pay for with a Ford. I mean when I worked at the dealer that I bought my truck from someone bought a Platinum F250 with the Powerstroke for $68K and not long after someone got a 3500 Dually Crew Cab High Country for the same price. By the way, the dealership carried all domestic brands except GMC and Buick so it was easy to compare brand for brand.

The GMC Denali interior is not up to the F150 Platinum. So plus for Ford. Powertrain is a plus for GMC. Right now I'm undecided which way to go. I drove a GMC Denali yesterday with the 6.2l. Nice driving but if I go with one I'll feel like I'm giving up on interior features and finish. I need the power of the GMC. Prior to actually driving the GMC I was figuring my decision would be easy picking the Denali. I was ready to swap going to the dealer yesterday. They've made me a great deal but I walked. Really not sure what I'm going to do now.

The Ford is a nice truck, but I don't care for the blocky interior and the excessive silver painted trim on the Lariat and below models. The ride of the Ford feels more unstable due to the lighter aluminum body, and unlike the OP, I don't care for the higher seating position of the Ford. It feels like you're driving in s high chair. Everyone has there preferences, if you really dislike the GM, trade it in and get what you really crave rather than be completely unhappy; especially when the payment is due.

I live in a GM family and sad to say i would. The panorama roof is amazing and i like how you can get body colored grille and bumper in more colors than black and white. but..... god dam sport mode?! like seriously the only reason i had gone and looked at one and kind of liked it is because my truck shifts so freaking bad.

 

If my truck didnt shift like a Massey Ferguson i wouldn't even look fords way but im so dissapointed.

      Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.

      I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.

      4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.

      2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
