100% the person who detailed it before you took possession. Their knees up on the roof while drying it. Ask me how I know... PDR guy got mine all out for $90

I totally agree with the poster above on the origin of these shallow dents.

These dents are fortunately very shallow and can be easily removed by a paintless dent removal technique. The only downside is that if they cannot get the dents out fully using a suction cup, they will most likely need to drop the rear part of headliner to get to the underside part of the roof metal. Or maybe they can access it by removing the third brake light. I would not worry about this. If this is the only problem you have with the truck, you are lucky.

Got the truck back and PDR guy was able to get the dents out, took him a couple hours though. He said the edges were sharp. When I talked to him he was going through the brake light. The dealership detail guys just had to buff out the fine scratches left behind and now you can't tell there were any dents there. So now i'm happy again and loving this truck!

My 2016 Denali has the same dents. I'm beginning to think my detailed dented it

Roof sheet metal on GM trucks is quite thin - and not just on the late model ones. I remember that the metal on the roof of my 2006 crew cab flexed under my hand when I applied even slight pressure with a sponge while hand washing it.
