I have V4 disabled. Still have the noise. I'm leaning towards valvetrain. It does it in v8 mode.

and I'm leaning towards ford...that noise is so annoying.  Glad the sound system works well...but it gets on my nerves  :-/

I doubt it. I don’t see how hitting bumps can make it disappear or reappear if it was the valve train. It would be constant. I go days without hearing it once and all a sudden I hit a bump, it comes back for a bit then goes away. It always starts in v4 for me and also be there in v8.

Go become a member on a ford forum and see all the problems they complain about. I bet it’s pretty similar. Doesn’t matter what brand there will always be issues on mass produced products, switching to ford won’t do anything besides waste your money on taxes and depreciation.

I think earlier on this thread or at least another one on here someone had the whole drivers side valves done and it was still there. At this point I'm almost positive at this point it is electrical.

My problem is not that there is an issue but the inability to resolve it after multiple visits to the dealer. One of the benefits of mass produced products is to provide a similar experience to the consumer. Unfortunately my neighbor is enjoying his non ticking Sierra more than I am at this point.

I do agree with you that there are probably just as many issues with the other manufacturers.

I'll be a happy camper if someone ever figures out a fix.

And my buddy with his 2016 Sierra has had not one issue coming from a 15 f150. Yeah I’m just as annoyed but I was just saying you’re just gonna blow a lot of money switching brands for this reason

That won't help. Had one for 8 yrs. They're all overhead cam with half a mile of chain. They tick constantly.

Well I have an update for you all with my truck. I checked the oil and I was way overfilled and it smelt like gas, took the truck in to the dealer tonight and It looks like I'm getting a whole new motor. The motor is blowing gas all throughout it mixed with gas and you don't hear the tick when it is warming up because the oil is thick enough once it thins out at operating temp the gas mixing with it washes most of the oil off and the ticking is metal on metal contact of valves cams push rods etc. I'll keep everyone updated about how things are going but check for gas in the oil.

Wow. How many miles? I know that’s definitely not the case with my motor, I’ve never smelled gas in my oil and it doesn’t consume any oil either or have too much. Yours must have constantly ticked cause mine does it only after bumps, and then goes away for a long time. Mine doesn’t sound like a motor tick either it sounds like an exhaust leak

8262 miles, mine sounded like an exhaust leak and can only be heard when driving just like everyone else had been saying, just today it started doing it all the time in v8 or v4 and with the gas smell today I decided to take it into a different dealer again (original one where I got the truck from). The new one I got as a rental has no tick and is completely normal.

If this ends up being the problem that’s a massive recall on GMs part.. still doesn’t make sense to me as mine is triggered by bumps and only comes from the driver side footwell.

Just based on the reading off the dipstick there had to have been 1-3 quarts of gas in the oil, the truck has had all service done by this dealer and nothing else. I've only had it three months and am extremely regretting not getting the 2500 diesel, needless to say this truck will be going back for a new one.

Yeah that definitely is not the case with my truck or anyone else’s with this problem that I’ve heard yet. Sorry to hear man, that is crazy. My truck is at 23k now and the motor doesn’t consume or show over filled a drop of oil, great gas mileage too. How was your gas mileage?
