16 Headlight ?

So I'm jumping from my 14 into a 16, the truck isnt available so the dealer is gonna dealer trade, The truck I want is a All Terrain Crew SLT, I thought the headlights were the $500 option and thats just how it was on all A/T's, well one of the trucks we found was equipped with HID's, is one or the other better? I guess with the $500 leds u have to replace the whole unit at $1200 thats insane!!! how many have made the 14/16 jump and been that much happier?

I have a '16 with HID's, they are pretty bad. Well, low beam with the fogs is fine but high beams are terrible.

The high beams reach out a great distance, but with very little brightness if that makes sense. My 2010 high beams destroyed these.

Have u driven a 14/15 compare? I hope to keep this new truck7-10 i wonder if the LEDs will last 1200 to replce headlights seems Absurd, I for sure see a hammer to headlight lol

I will agree with this statement. But, I will not replace them.

I'm going to go out on the limb and say your salesmen is not that knowledgeable about the cost of headlight replacement. First of all I believe the cost of a entire headlamp assembly is around that price from dealer so I doubt the bulb only is anywhere even close to that. If you want the leds get the leds, do not settle with something your looking to keep for a long time and at this cost.

I believe the leds also have switchbacks "might be wrong and only Denali gets them " which look nice and imo is worth the extra time and money to have.

Probably the whole assembly costs that much....Wouldn't surprise me! I just popped my hood when I bought the truck and looked at the lights and could tell instantly they are inclosed,sealed big boxes and will cost big bucks to replace....NOT FIX AINT Happening.

Hey all, this is my first post but I hope I can help. I just bought a 2016 A/T SLT with the "high performance" LED headlights. I have seen a few A/Ts without the high performance LEDs and they definitely don't look the same. I would find one with them if you're going to spend that much on a vehicle. Get the one you want so there are no regrets later! Im deployed right now and its waiting for me when I get back.. the wait is killing me!

I don't have any experience with a 14 or 15 but my 16 cc all terrain SLT has the led option and I love them. I rarely have to use my high beams at all. I usually just use the low beams and the fogs which match perfect color wise with the headlights. And the blue tint the bulbs put off looks really good with the color of my truck. Only thing I've noticed with leds is that the beam of light is really focused, meaning there's not much fade in light. Seems like something is either lit up or not. Also maybe it's just my eyes but it seems like the leds don't make road signs that are reflective seem all that reflective. Just my 2 cents

I guess most people don't think the headlamp could cost that much but I wouldn't be surprised. On my Z4 if the HID bulb goes out they only can replace the whole assembly and not just the bulb/ballast so it is an $1,800 per headlight fix.

I personally love my LED (Sierra) and I think the lows and highs both works wonderfully.
