The thread here (http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/188524-dual-climate-control-for-2014-2016-silverado/)

...........in the Buy & Sell section got me thinking ............Hmmm, maybe this would work? I have a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE Reg Cab, and I thought it would be a great idea to have the Automatic Climate Control feature; set the temp and let the system figure out the rest. The seller does state it's "Plug and Play", right?

Wrong!

So I picked a head unit up off eBay for $100. I figured, what the heck! It probably won't work, and maybe all I will get is a digital temperature readout. Anything else would be a bonus.

Install takes all of 10mins.

The dual climate control feature does not work. When you change the drivers side temp, the passenger side follows suit

The Automatic Climate Control feature does not work. You still adjust temp and fan blower separately.

So all you really get is a digital temp readout. Hope this saves some of you owners a few $$$

I assume there is another controller module you would need as well, right?

Curious if the temperature reading is accurate too.

you need the temp sensor also. i researched this and it turns out that the light sensor on top of the dash is also where the temp sensor is. to mske it work you need to buy the sensor part number 13578464, this sensor has temp sensor and light sensor. It does look nice in your dash

Thanks! Really appreciate that. I will assume the exiting wiring is already in place haha.

Yeah, this isn't an easy swap. As Chris just said, there are other sensors and doors in the HVAC system that go along with the in dash module.

Ordered the sensor, we'll see how that goes. Don't really care about dual climate control feature, just want to have it adjust fan speed automatically. Thanks guys!

dual zone is a different airbox The A/C, fan, diverter assembly is a different component, and it's a large assembly.

The whole IP (dash unit) would need to be removed, and a different "air box" assembly installed. Supported wiring, solenoids .... Really not a home project unless you're a masochist.

Nice to have a bit more bling though.
