Waaazooo's great adventure

I suppose this is going to be as much of a blog as a vehicle build. It seems like GM is pretty relaxed on the Magnuson act so I'll get an opportunity to play a little.

It all starts about a year or so ago.

Our stable consisted of my wife's 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE, my 2015 Audi A6. When my wife decides that WE need a travel trailer because the dogs get stressed out when our family travels and we have to leave them home with a visitor. We decide we would wait out the winter and see what the new year would hold for our travel trailer needs/wants. Her car has an electrical poltergeist and we end up with a new Nissan Pathfinder because the dealership had a pretty one with black leather in the show room. Tow capacity is 5k and the trailer we are eyeing up is 6500lbs dry. She looks at me and asks how attached I am to my Audi. I said, how attached are you to the dogs. Well, needless to say I spent a few days hanging with the pooches on the couch when I guess she was looking up information trucks because our email and computer starts having all these Silverado, F-150, and Ram advertisements. A few weeks later, I am handing over my balls to my wife and the keys to my Audi to the dealer. In return I did get a snazzy Chevy Silverado LT ZR1. The one I had looked at with my son was an LTZ; however, it was sold a few days prior and the only other Deep Ocean Blue was an LT.

So the deed is done. I have almost 400 miles on it thus far. I have decided that it needs a few accessories. The first thing done was window tint, it is so inexpensive to get 2 windows done it happened the next day (pics below). Then the rake has to even out a bit. Tires/wheels/exhaust/stereo tweak/pushing hardware and much more on its way.

Installed the rough country 2" level kit. Important notes to an easy instal on the the lower A - arm is that you need to jack up the entire front end and not just the working wide. The swat bar create to much binding to get the block in. All this said, I went from 36.5" from the ground to the center bd2b6367675705bb32a9f95cc816e8fe.jpg

To 38.25

I also found that it gave me about 11" of clearance on the lower right valance

I have a borla exhaust in the garage and an intake in the mail :)

I'm still on the fence about tires. 275/65-20 on a 20x9 +18 wheel. I like the bfg A/T but the Toyo and Nitto are both cheaper. I like the look of an MT tire but of course they are not great in the winter. Too expensive to have both winter and summer wheels/tires

I've had BFGs, Nittos and Toyos - I would go with Toyos if it was up to me - you could go with Toyo Open Country R/T in the 275/65-20. not quite as agressive as an M/T, not as tame looking as an A/T...

After getting the oem exhaust loose I realized you can't get it to twist if you're not on a lift. dff2da179411d5c34cf9587fd4dcfe6c.jpg

The end result is pretty bad ass. This is what a truck is should be. My neighbor said I'm going full republican on the truck... Dick. I said yes.

Anyhow. Looks good sounds great. Going to take it on the highway and see if I like it in v4.

    • Looking up on the web you can the information that would seem obvious. You asked engine components to do more. You get more wear. The answer is they can last just as long but required more maintenance. Apparently having to change lifters, cam and associated components are maintenance or repairs. In some research the normal life span of valve train components are 80-100 miles with 3-5K miles oil change. So the next logical conclusion would be cost per mile. I use that analogy with my wife all the time with vehicles. My Odyssey is approaching 170K. The cost per mile will go up at 200K with maintenance. Looking at a low cost car. A K-4 with a 10-10 warranty. Selling my Ridgeline that’s about to hit the same maintenance milestone. My argument becomes not only I get worry free driving. But at no cost increases. Because I take the money from my Ridgeline and maintenance savings and other potential savings. I’m driving for free. So tying it with a bow. It makes you wonder. Is this a grand conspiracy by the auto makers? Raise the potential maintenance high enough. Buyers by extended warranty to 100K miles. Do the minimum maintenance required. Trade in at the warranty end. How long should they last? That question is what keeps people up at night. The answer is much more complicated than it used to be.
    • Could you cite your source on this?  I cannot find any reference to the US secretly taking the oil.  I find references that the US helped oil tankers move through the Strait of Hormuz, but nothing about what you're stating.
    • Same thought, also the everything doesn't have the details real photos do (talking about the noise in the photo)
    • Since the media YOU and your buddies are programmed to watch failed to mention this, I'll fill you in.   Trump admitted today that we've grabbed 150 MILLION barrels of oil from the Iranian tankers locked in the Strait by our Navy. We turned off their transponders, took them out to sea in the dark of night since they have zero radar capabilities anymore, offloaded every drop onto another vessel, and put them back by morning so no one was the wiser. That oil has been en-route THROUGHOUT the entire conflict.   Main reason he admitted this is to let even guys on our own side who joined leftists in complaining about the prices that he hears us all, and has taken steps to make sure this didn't spiral into a BAD situation ... just like the mainstream media has been PRAYING would happen, just so they could gloat. Amazes me how these people are rooting for the destruction of THEIR OWN HOME, just to make a President they don't agree with or like look bad! That's next level TDS!   I know your not capable of giving our President the benefit of the doubt, again due to your deep programming, but THIS is why oil never hit $150 a barrel as predicted by your programmers, AND the reason oil continues falling. Like I said before, Trump's got a plan, and this is proof of it. By the end of his term, we're going to be in GREAT shape for a change!   Since I just spent $3,000 this week on #2 heating oil and gasoline, the war most certainly is ending! 🤣   https://mxmnews.com/article/ba359ac9-2711-4851-92de-187f2400f2dd?breaking-trump-cancels-iran-strikes-deal-now-approved-by-all-parties
    • No leaks. Replaced the condenser 3 years ago. Problem was found to be caused by the A/C blend door actuator. Just replaced it and it's blowing out the cold air it used to when I bought it.
