400 mile road trip to LA, Average speed was 70-80mph. 78mph seemed to be the sweet spot. I averaged 37mpg

Holy Crap i have a warning for all you "hypermilers" getting great mileage with a 6.2 8 spd. WHATEVER YOU DO NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER GET THE GM BORLA DUAL EXHAUST ON YOUR TRUCK. Hahahaha just joking I am having a lot of fun but my mileage is way down.

I only had stock exhaust on my 6.2L for couple k before putting on the GM Borla system so I don't know if it dropped mpg or not.

My best with it was 22mpg in pretty much perfect driving conditions(for here) at 70mph for a 400 mile trip.

I'm calling BS as well, it's impossible. We all have the same truck dude, we know what they are capable of.

how about you post up your 50 mile and 400 mile bests instead of what you got coasting down a mountain

I care about mpg's. I went from a 2.0 liter VW that got 28 mpg's to a 5.3 liter truck averaging 21 mpg's in real world driving. 7 mpg difference but miles apart in practicality. Plus the VW required premium which is generally $.50 more a gallon here. After crunching numbers, I am pretty much breaking even.

Dude, were you going down hill all the way?

LOL he musta been!

Bone stock 2015, 6.2L, 8 Speed, 18 inch Chevy wheels with the SRA Wranglers, Stock exhaust, Grade braking on, 3.23 rear gears.

I generally go off the DIC, as my hand calculations have been within a few tenths.

Lifetime mileage is 17.8 MPG over the 5100+ miles I've had him since leaving the dealer lot.

Generally, a mixed city/hwy tank will yield 18-19 mpg. On highway runs I will reset the A trip odometer to track my fuel economy.

My drive home from the dealer was 624 miles of interstate, and in my method of break in, involved accelerating and decelerating at erratic intervals. Still got 18.8 mpg.

Since then, all of my trips have been mixed highway and interstate between Gillette and Casper. Usually get 21-22 mpg, and that's with cruise set at speed limits (70 and 80 respectively).

Last trip I took I got 23.2 on the way up, going the speed limit.

On the way back, I drove 65 and 75 to avoid deer, since it was after dark and deer were out in force. Avoided the deer and got 24.1 mpg.

Gotta say, quite happy with the EcoTec V8....I'd say they got it working very well!

Well I was joking around there. The new GM Borla exhaust will actually have ZERO affect on mpg itself. Problem is the owner who drives it seems to want to keep the rpms up and jack rabbit away from red lights etc cuz it sounds soooooooo good LOL Over the last 3400 miles I am averaging right at 19 was over 20 average BEFORE the dual exhaust so the changed driving habits have affected the fuel consumption.

Oh come on Catman everyone here knows that a 25 mile average means NUTIN. Get us a pic of your Trip A or trip B with several thousand miles at 37mpg then we will BE IMPRESSED.....

My display said I was getting 16.7 MPG. Just got done putting fuel in her and did the math, 15.7 is what I really got. I read somewhere earlier to subtract 1MPG from the display. True statement there.

Look I got 99 mpg average here BAM :driving: I left the picture fuzzy since this is all FUZZY MATH LOL

Instant MPG means nothing, compared to 200 miles, 400 miles, 10,000 miles......

No wonder you left it fuzzy.

Where you live and where you drive has everything to do with it.

I'm getting 21 on a every day basis....but I try and take the backroads whenever I can and stay out of traffic.

On a day trip where the speed limit is 45-55 and I drive that speed, that is where I have gotten the 28.4.
