Broken A/C on a 2014 with 15k? Is this normal?

Has anyone had any A/C issues that required a trip to the dealer? Mine blows hot air only. Worked 12 hours ago with no issue.

I've had an issue occur where it wouldn't power on the fan no matter what setting I put it on, but a quick restart of the truck fixed that normally. This is something new for me.

Take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty. If you are outside of warranty, contact GM customer service. Others have been successful having GM cover it under goodwill or pay for some if not all of the repair. It's a design flaw on 2014 and early build 2015s

When you say early 15s... how early is that? Mine is a December build I believe, but I'm not having any issues with 40k miles.

I have a 14 with 55k and already it has already been repaired twice! Once under warranty and one time out....

If they did not put the new style hose it will break again. Some even break with the band-aid backet.

When I asked my dealer if my old 14 was included in the problem trucks the tech was right there. I followed him out to my truck and he looked at the hose and said it was included. I asked him about the bracket installation and he said the was the fix only when it breaks. I just said ok whatever and left.

No date based on the TSB, if you have the muffler in the condenser to the compressor line, you have an affected model. Easy fix is order the bracket piece either online from a parts vendor, eBay or your local dealer and install the bracket to keep the line from cracking and leaking refrigerant.

So I guess I jinked myself. My air conditioning stopped working last night. Will blow air but compressor is not working. I'm actually in the way to the dealer now. Just thankful it happened at 35200 instead of 36k!

Mine went out on Wednesday of this week. 2014 with 44k miles and was 4 hours from home in 93 degree heat. Luckily its CPO and they fixed it but was a cracked condenser.

I posted to other threads the same issue.

14 Sierra with 45k miles out of warranty.

Condenser leaked , GM dealer shop said $1000 to replace.

Thank you GM.

Yes I would think the extended warranty would cover that.

I passed on the ext warranty this time because I never used the previous one I had, and when the problems started on the older truck the extended warranty had expired anyways.

Far as I am concerned this is a GM quality issue if the condensers are dying so soon.

Wow, I'm really glad I follow this forum!

My A/C just quit yesterday (blowing hot air like there isn't any freon in the system) and I brought it to a local nearby repair shop. i'm almost at 50,000 miles and out of warranty so I didn't even consider bringing it to my dealer. I'm going to bring this information to the shop this morning and contact GM to see if I can get them to help with the cost of the repair.

Thank you guy for all the helpful info!
