So in NJ we don't pump our own gas. Put about 50 miles on my truck and I start to hear this clanging noise from the engine.

I can't figure out what it is, thinking it's the transmission on something.

I have an ah ha moment and look at my last gas receipt. Idiot put regular in, I definitely said 93.

How bad is this for my truck? Full tank of regular on a 93 octane blackbear tuned 6.2 and I can hear it knocking. So pissed.

I was in NJ a few months back for work. I was shocked that you couldn't pump your own gas, that was a surprise to me as I had the rental filled before dropping it off.

You could drive like grammy does or siphon out.

Money a moons ago when I lived in the DC area, use to transport cars for high end dealers sometimes we would drive them back. Those guys use to always bump the cars with the nozzles, spill gas, put wrong gas in them use the windshield washer for cleaning the gas of the car...ugh!!! dang now gonna have nightmares tonight about it.

3/4 tank now

Dont know whether to top it off with 93 or try to drive more, can't decide.

Wish they sold race gas locally

go get some octane boost at the auto parts store like Lucas octane boost - I don't think having this happen once will have a big effect, it will hurt your engine if it's prolonged, that's for sure - drive like a granny so you don't get pinging or pre-detonation, get the octane boost, and fill er up with 93...

Baby it until half of a tank, you can try some octane boost as well. Then top off with 93. Then run that tank down fully to almost "E" and then fill back up with 91/93.

My vote (which doesn't mean crap, I know) is to add a little bit of Octane boost and then stop worrying about it.

If anybody cares to say "don"t worry about it you'll be fine" it would make me feel better

Relax you will be fine. Just go out burn the fuel and refill with some 93
