16Denali6.2 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I have looked everywhere through my gauge cluster and cannot find a trans temp page. If I press tow/haul I get a small gauge that comes up on the screen, but it isn't very accurate. My '15 SLT had a page with the trans temp, but my '16 Denali apparently does not. Am I missing something?
Sean Neilan Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Did you go into "info" and select the trans temp option?
Gecko50 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Turn on the "tow haul" mode the gauges will change and show trans temps.
jhplak325 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 On the Denali, press tow/haul and the battery gauge gets replaced with the trans temp gauge.
Binobanbino Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 You can pick a screen that is similar to chevy dashboard and when you press the T/H mode the entire right gadge changes to tranny temp.
16Denali6.2 Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 Did you go into "info" and select the trans temp option? Yeah, I've tried. But there isn't anything there about transmission temp.

Right, but there isn't anything you can read with any real accuracy. My SLT had a specific page with a digital readout.
amxguy1970 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 How do you know it isn't very accurate? If it isn't, why do you want a bigger one of the same in accurate reading? Tyler
redwngr Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 How do you know it isn't very accurate? If it isn't, why do you want a bigger one of the same in accurate reading? Tyler I think what he means is the DIC page provides temperature in 1 degree increments, but the 'gauge' display is like the water temp gauge with only a few increments between the min and max. This would make it lower resolution, but not necesarily any less 'accurate', since it will get the info it displays from the same place. Question for the Denali owners -- is there a 'red' zone on the display, and at what temperature?
truckguy82 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Denali owners are too important to concern themselves with such irrelevant data.
16Denali6.2 Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 How do you know it isn't very accurate? If it isn't, why do you want a bigger one of the same in accurate reading? Tyler I believe I have mispoken. The small digital gauge is not very precise. It may be accurate, but it has very low precision compared to a digital readout. With the digital readout I could measure within one degree. With the small gauge I believe I would be lucky to be within ten, maybe fifteen degrees from actual temperature purely based in it's scale, size, and resolution.
Dnt Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Denali owners are too important to concern themselves with such irrelevant data. Hold up I will be back after while, I have to run get some Grey Poupon Dijon
StillOffshore Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Denali owners are too important to concern themselves with such irrelevant data. I personally requested that the guages be removed from my truck altogether.
Binobanbino Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I know what your saying but 1° here and 1° there is really not going to matter. I tow a heavy load once in awhile and i just glance down and make sure it has not moved much.
Jon A Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I believe I have mispoken. The small digital gauge is not very precise. It may be accurate, but it has very low precision compared to a digital readout. That is correct. I've tested it many times against a scanner and found it is indeed very accurate (unlike your water temp gauge which will read exactly 210 degrees from 180 something to 230 something actual temp). But, it's hard to read precisely. If you work out what the marks mean beforehand and remember them, then you'll be able to tell within a few degrees pretty easily but it would have been nice if they'd labeled them better.
