Scratched Rims

He said in the original post that the owner was going to do some research and call him back! He never mentioned he was getting screwed over, at all. But you're ready to start threatening the guy behind your iPhone.

You sound ridiculous talking about "maybe you are okay with shops messing up your sh $t just not for me"

You are the only one in here sounding ridiculous. When I pay someone to do a job for me, I expect it done right. If they damage something that will cost me more money to get back to original I would never have taken it there in the first place.

With decent training and patience this is 100% avoidable so it is not out of the realm to ask for replacements since it was their negligence that damaged your property.

So youre just another keyboard bad-a$$, too?

The guy never said he was getting screwed over, but now all these cry babies come out of the woodwork to crucify the tire shop owner. The OP said he doesn't want to stick it to the guy, he just wants it to be right. That can be easily accomplished without replacement of all the wheels.

You all are so full of Christmas spirit it's coming out if your ears.

I don't want to give it to the guy. I just wanted my truck back the way i sent it in for a very simple service, changing 4 tires. The scratches aren't really bad, i've seen worse, but they are scratched. The worst part is they did 3 of the 4. If it was just one and they told me about it, I could understand. Who continues to wreck 3 rims and not tell me? I'm glad I looked.

I can't figure out how to upload photos. Any tips?

Each employee working for their employer represents the employer, so hang that argument of the wages, jog description, training or competency, it does not amount to anything other than that man's rims were damaged end of story period!

Secondly re-read and understand what the post you quoted stated, if the store owner did not make it right then contact BBB leaving bad reviews with them and various other sites. Not take new rims, run, badmouth etc. as you stated above

Third before you accuse someone else, I am not a keyboard hero and you have an open invitation to test it if you wish.

Thank you for your professional dissertation on business practice and application. I'm gonna write it all down and carry that around with me in my pocket from now on...

Another keyboard hero, that hasn't even seen the scratches on the wheels.

More Christmas spirit here, too, I see...

Well maybe you should let it sink in, from the attitude of your posting sounds like to me that is what you do or have done for a living working or even owning a tire shop.

The clear coating on two of my rims was damaged and needed repair by a big chain tire shop from re-working the weights balancing the wheels at 36,000 miles, but they made it right and I did not have to pursue the matter any further, so I do know what Stetsie is talking about somewhat.

I already stated once and I will state it again if you think that of me, you have an open invitation to find out.

I would give the tire shop the opportunity to make it right. Accidents happen, that's why most if not all shops carry some form of liability insurance. Now, if the shop beats around the bush, or has the wheels fixed on the cheap that is not up to your satisfaction, then I would elevate the problem to the BBB or leave negative reviews on yelp or whatever, just give the tire shop a chance to make it right. It's annoying to have to deal with this, but life happens. Maybe the tire shop will also compensate you for your inconvenience, like refund you some of the tire purchase.

You are 100% right! Thank you for being a decent human.

Yeah, we're on the Internet, what people say they will do in a circumstance like this (bow up on the shop owner) versus what really happens are two different things. I remind myself that everyone is a badass online.

It's sooooooooooo true. I've been on about 10 different mechanical forums like this one. They're all the same. And they're all full of these keyboard Bad-a$$es that pretend they're tough.

but nobody is as much of a BA as you. Calling everyone that you disagree with out and personal insults... I wish my balls were as big as yours and I had a Denali6.2. Oh how I envy you and your amazing reading comprehension.

oh, and if you cared to read and comprehend the post before replying... people were saying IF the rims are not fixed to your satisfaction you should warn the owner that you will be leaving poor reviews with the BBB and others and maybe they will go further to make you happy so you do not do that. To make some people happy it may take replacement rims, to others it doesn't. Just because some people have a higher standard than others doesn't make them wrong or an internet warrior. Take a damn chill pill.

I had this happen to my F150. Discount tires scratched my wheels pulling the center caps off for lug nut access.

I was very noisy on this. They initially waned to refinish my wheels. This was unacceptable to me. They then offered to replace with stock refurbished wheels and they'd take my old wheels.

I thought that was a good option until I got the new wheels. This was a 2010 f150 fx4 which has machined face wheels. The new wheels were clearcoated not machined.

This was an issue later on when they sat in my crawl space after I swapped them out for fuel trophys. The clear coat was poor quality and bubbled real bad around the lip of the wheel.

I should've asked for OEM wheels or a credit for new wheels.

This is exactly what I was trying to say in the first place. Agreed.
