Z71 vs Silverado door badge

I'm thinking about removing the Silverado on the tailgate and putting a grille emblem Z71 in its' place. I have a set with black and set with whites Zs.

They are smaller and should look ok

 

I tried doing that but just put beside the LT, but it looked out of place and plus I put it on a little crooked and I'm OCD so I took it off lol. If you do try it, there's 2 little pegs to line it up on the grille and you can just break those off.

The sets I have are 3m tape only . That has allowed me to test them out in various places. I agree it doesn't look right next to the the LT or LTZ in my case. I'm a little worried that it may not look good in place of the Silvy. We'll see.

I de-badged my tailgate but left just the bowtie. I took the huge Texas edition emblem off and replaced them with the huge Z71 emblems. I also took off the Z71 decals off the bed. I love the look.

Not if you use a matching size grille Z71 badge to replace the LT on the tailgate.

 

That iridium color is like a chameleon under certain lighting.....today it looks greenish.

If you want to tone down the shiny chrome emblems without debadging............a vendor on Amazon sells emblem overlay decals. Offered in many colors to match or contrast paint colors. Durable as any body decal and covers only the front surface of the badging so the chrome sides give a real 3D effect.

 

Mine are subdued because they are dark grey to match the iridium finish, but would be more dramatic with a brighter color finish.
