2017 LED headlights

So my previous truck was a 2015 SLE with the halogen projector style lights. I thought that the light output was ok at best. These new LED projection headlights in the 2017 are amazing. For safety reasons, I'm really surprised that GM doesn't put these light in all the trucks.

 

Just thought I would share... Anyone else experience these?

The poor lighting is a well known issue on 2014-15 GMCs. Take a look around the site, there are multiple threads about the issue. There's a lawsuit pending on it too. Even if it came to a recall, it's extremely unlikely you'd get upgraded to LED or HID. It'd be an updated halogen most likely.

This is a problem with a lot of other brands. My last 2012 Ram was the worst! I tried everything trying to get the light output better. When somebody asks me about my new truck and the best part...the 1st thing that comes to mind is the lights! I absolutely love the LED lights. I can actually see at night again!

I've got a '17 loaner at the moment and wow these LEDs sure are amazing. On the high beam it is similar to my 32" led bar, although not as bright and as intense obviously, still absolutely amazing.

 

May have never bought an LED bar if i had these lights lol.

i agree bought a 2017 last week the lighting is 10x better than the lighting my 14 had.

agreed.. i came out of a ford and the lighting sucked... hard to drive at night... now.. .night and day difference... feels like your in a video game the way the signs all light up with the HID's.

You want bad? Try my wife's JK Wrangler. Pitiful output. I don't like to drive the Jeep after dark. These 2016 Silverado headlights rock.

Trading my 2014 was worth it just for the headlights despite all the other goodies I have on the 2016..

 

Put the fogs on and it's even better.

I find these headlights work fine, they're not the brightest but not the worst either. I usually drive with my Fog LED for added lights (HID projection is what I have). They are way brighter than my wife's new Subaru Impreza with halogens!

^Truth! my wife Jeep is terrible. I've been behind people at light and turn them off and back on just to make sure they are on!

 

my '17 on the other hand...incredible. I was getting to a point that my eyes were making it difficult to drive at night, not any more at all.

On my 2016 when I turn my fogs on along with the headlights I ALWAYS get someone thinking my brights are on. Are the 2017's brighter than the 2016's?

Same with me, always getting flashed. I might stop by the dealer when I have free time so they can possibly adjust the lights for me.

Naw that is just people being blinded by the fog lights......a lot of people run them in clear weather and it pisses people off.

Been searching but am unable to find this answer..

 

Will the LED headlights from a 2017 high country SLT physically fit on a 2014 SLT without modification? I know wiring will need the adapter.

 

I found a set for cheap and just wondering, thanks!
