I really don't see how the NTSB still allows halogens to be used. I'm not a person that advocates .gov intrusion into things, but they really need to ban that shitty lighting platform if MFGers aren't going to even give an upgrade option.

NTSB is an investigative agency, reporting to Congress. Their sole purpose is to make Safety Recommendations to other agencies and Congress, so those branches of government can make law to address systemic issues.

You must be thinking of NHTSA. They can force manufacturers to recall vehicles for correcting safety issues by the threat of civil penalties.

I recall my halogen lights in my GMT800 and 900 as being great and much better than the 2014 I have. So, it's not halogen technology that is a problem. It's the particular installation in these projectors. My friend's 08 Lexus has the same issue. Same bulbs in their projector. The thing is, these bulbs would be great in a good reflector.

I think the LED headlights are amazing, super bright, However there was a post about these headlights only performing average or below average with the standard test. The Denali with the LED was the only one that had a good rating, even though the silverado 15000 has the same LED.

I have a '17 LT with I believe factory HIDs. I think LEDs were on the LTZ and up trims. But does anyone know if I could swap LEDs into my HID headlights? Are the housings the same between HIDs and LEDs?

Did you ever find any options for upgrading to LED? I'm in the same boat - I have a '17 LT Z71 and would love to upgrade to the LTZ LED system...without doing a whole front end swap... Would it be possible and straightforward to replace the HID reflectors with LED reflectors?

Morimoto kit with 50w 5500k bulbs are amazing, i just installed them. İ will not be looking into headlight swap anymore :)

After driving a '15 F150, where I couldn't see at night, regardless of adjustments, etc (there was just nothing there to work with as far as lighting) I made it a priority on my next truck.  When I saw the SLT premium plus had the factory LED headlights as part of the option package, I eased my mind.  Check out the various trucks that you may have been interested in, its eye opening (no pun intended).

Not only is the light outstanding but if you have auto high beam it surprises you the first time it comes on :-)

I'm still trying to get used to the Intellibeams. Works great, until there is cross traffic waiting at an intersection up ahead, and it remains in high beam mode...if I manually go to low beams (must push the stalk forward then back), it cancels the Intellibeam function entirely.

I LOVE the LED lights.  I almost cannot stand to drive my wifes Sedona in the dark.  Like her van is almost dangerous by comparison at the general lack of light.  This was a van that I used to think had better than average lights before I got my Rado.....

You would only need to swap headlights, everything else will fit.  I just did this swap on my 2017 LT.

I just traded in a ‘16 Ram for a ‘17 Silverado LTZ. I had a 30” LED light bar on my Ram, and the light output of the Silverado headlights matches it easily. Buying the truck was worth it for the headlights alone.

I don’t have part numbers on hand.

You would be swapping out the whole headlight unit, not just the bulb. If you do a search for 2016-2018 LTZ headlights, you can see the prices. Typically a set is around $1400. You can sell your stock headlights for around $1200.

So you’d be spending about $250 for the upgrade. Everything is plug and play with PGamboa’s harness. Hope this helps.
