Seemingly Rough Ride 2015 Silverado

I recently traded my 2010 Silverado 1500 CCSB 4x4 in on a 2015 Silverado 1500 CCSB 4x4. I wasn't planning on getting a new one but got a killer deal on the 2015 LTZ with only 5000 miles.

The new trucks suspension seems to be quite a bit rougher than my 2010. The 2010 seemed to ride like a nice car while the 2015 rides like a duece and a half. OK maybe not that bad.

The 2015 has a leveling kit on the front. The kind that go between the bottom of the strut and the a arm. The wheels are after market KMC XD with P275 55R20 BFG Rugged Trail TA. The shocks and struts are stock.

My 2010 was stock except that at 100k I replaced the shocks and struts with bilstein 5100's. The tires were P265 65R18 Bridgestone Dueler AT.

Both tire sets were/are inflated to 35 PSI.

Was my 2010 suspension just a little more broke in or do the new ones ride stiffer?

I love everything else about the truck. And it's nothing I can't deal with just wanting some feedback.

These trucks do seem to have a little harsher ride compared to the gmt900 trucks. It doesn't help with the level and those tires are probably rated for more weight load than factory tires so they are naturally more stiff due to all the belts in them.

What's the load rating on the tires? It seems like lots of people do E-rated tires when they go bigger which I feel is generally a mistake. Too stiff.

There is a kit on it, the picture for some reason makes it look raked.

The tires are P not LT.

I've thought about some bilsteins but I've got a couple other things I want to do first like a bed liner and a catch can.

Will the 5100's ride nicer than stock?

Do they put the Ranchos on regular 4X4 trucks?

i have rancho's on my 4x4... but its an AT... .. i'll tell you this.. my cousin just picked up a 2017 escalade.... and my truck rides as good as that... basically they feel the same.... just my 2 cents

I went from an 09 to a 15 with no downgrade in ride quality. In addition to the earlier suggestions, I would recommend an alignment and wheel balance check. I'd also check to see if the rear suspension has been altered or "enhanced".
