57 gallon fuel tank

We purchased our 2500 as a tow vehicle for our 5th wheel . The 36 gallon tank was not going to cut it for long distance trips. We decided to purchase a 57 gallon fuel tank. Best thing we ever did.

 

Never have to worry about running out of fuel or pay high prices in at a last chance station. This really does allow us the ability to pick and choose when and where we fuel up. We can drive for 600 miles while towing before having to refuel. Love this duramax with this tank.

 

Took some friends for a one day road trip w/o the trailer. I used less than a quarter of a tank with my drive time being over 6 hours.

Were you able to get the DIC reprogrammed for DTE? Gauge accurate?

No we didn't bother to reprogram the DIC. But it does know that there is a lot more fuel since it tells me that I can go almost 500 miles when it is full.

When my 36 gallon tank is full it tells me 500-550 miles.

By my calculations we can go over 1000 miles highway miles when we aren't towing the 5th wheel. We haven't tried it yet, but then I only have 6,000+ miles on it.

I'm jealous. I want a bigger tank but since I don't need it I can't justify dropping $1k+ on a bigger one. Same issue with bumpers Congrats on everything working out for you though.
