LT Tire or Metric?

I'm going to be replacing tires soon and noticed that Nitto Terra Grappler G2's come in LT305/55R20 and 305/55R20

LT305/55R20 E 121/118S 215190 16.3 33.23 12.44 8.5-(9.5)-11.0 3195/2910 @ 65 60.19

305/55R20 116S XL 215290 13.4 33.23 12.44 8.5-(9.5)-11.0 2756 @ 50 50.53

So my question is - Which one would you chose and why? I'm leaning toward the non LT only because I don't haul heavy loads in the truck itself and tire is lighter by 10 lbs ea. plus it has a 65,000 mile tread life vs the LT which only has a 50,000 mile tread life. Although my Toyo's have a 65,000 and I know I'll never see that...

I'm just curious if those that have put the LT's on their trucks have regretted the ride or loss of mileage at all...

I have Load Range D tires on my enclosed trailer and it sure didn't make a difference with nails or screws. Had to replace two brand new tires before we got out town last year going to Sturgis...

I've had LT's on my 1500's in the past and there is a little bit of a ride difference, it isn't unbearable though.

The P-Metric, the extended mileage per tire alone would make me buy them. So, if im not taking off road or hauling much, it's a P-Metric for sure

There benefits of a LT tire are increased load capacity. The downsides are everything else. The mileage and comfort loss alone is pretty significant. It's a shame all mud tires and aggressive AT tires are LT. I'd love a P metric ridge grappler

If you don't haul heavy loads and don't need the increased sidewall strength of an LT, then get the P-rated and enjoy the ride!

I was looking at the tires on a rental F150, they are a p-series 265x70r17 rated at 2,600#. Considering a comparable LT265 is around 3,400#; that's not much difference as there was at one point in time.
