Shock recommendations

I bought my 2010 Sierra crew 5.3 Z60 package used with 103k, truck now getting close to 119k. realized the shocks may never have been replaced. anybody have any good recommendations (possibly with part numbers) that wont break the bank? ive looked into rancho and bilstein and for the most part they are in the price range for the rear. the fronts I know cost more and would be done after the rears. I would prefer to buy the fronts as one piece so I can swap them out on my own. As I said the truck is a Z60 package so it was designed to handle better than the other suspension packages GM puts out. Any suggestions would be great.

Are the shocks on it now showing signs of problems? ie; leaking, damaged rods, lack of damping etc?

The shocks on these trucks typically tend to last a long time. Have you done any bounce tests?

You might find that they are still working fine and can leave them on.....

since I bought the truck with 103K I have no idea what it would have felt like with new shocks. I have a hard time believing that the shocks would be good at 118k. Ill take a look today, most websites I looked at said most shocks wont make it to 50K

I just did the fronts. My local big brand tire store was willing to mount the coils fit $20 per strut. I bought the amazon warehouse open box special 5100s for $75 each. Out the door for less than $200 on the front struts.

Bilstein 5100 series or Fox 2.0 are the two I researched prior to selecting the Fox setup. Fox 2.0 are rebuildable and are tuned to my specific application Cognito UCA and leveled so hard to beat for price.

Since I tow a lot, the Bilstein 4600 was the most highly recommended on RV forums. Made a huge difference in the ride and control.

^^ X2 on the 4600's to replace the stock shocks on a Z60.

Bilsteins are hard to beat, but I have had good luck with a set of Monroe Reflex shocks.

Recall talking to a Bilstein rep, a couple years ago.

He stated the 4600 struts would actually be better for the Z71 Avalanche, than the 5100's.

Then, recall some folks saying the 4600's are actually about 1.5 inches shorter than the stock Bilsteins.

Not wanting to lose any ride height, up front, I didn't pull the trigger.
