How exactly does climate control work on the 2014 silverado? A/C issue

ok so to start my a/c went out not to long ago in my 2014 LT ..it was the condenser I got it replaced with aftermarket...coming home from that I noticed my truck shifting really weird then it stopped! The condenser line blew out causing tranny fluid to go all over the place...filled it u went on my way long story short brought it to my local dealer and needed to rebuild my whole transmission (thank god I still have drive train) so now I have noticed that sometimes my a/c will blow colder than other times...ill be driving home from work (10 mile drive) and i notice it will be blowing hard than will blow soft out of nowhere. if im at the store and leave the truck running it will be blowing then blow hard when i hit the gas and soft again when I let off. when using on star it will blow soft until i hang up then blow hard again...I also feel that it isnt blowing as cool as it should... if im at 60 degrees it feels like it should be alot colder and when i turn it down once to low it gets cold...I just dont know if the blower should be doing that because of climate control or what or if anyone can address these issues...thanks

There's a feature that turns the blower down when you're on the phone or on with onstar. It's to make it easier for the other party to hear you. This happens whether you have auto on or not.

Any other stuff, I'm not sure about. It shouldn't be affected by your foot on the gas, but it could be the sensor on the dash detecting the sun and adjusting the AC.

I know my SLT and previous LTZ , both equipped with climate control, would adjust the fan based on the difference between measured cab temperature and the target temperature. If you wind the target temperature down on both sides (L & R) to well below the actual cab temp, it will run the fan at the highest speed, until it gets close to the target temp. If the outside temp is near the target temp, the blend doors will allow a mix.

If you have dual climate control it will do that if it is set to "auto". I don't recall mine adjusting the fan speed if it isn't set to auto except when I'm making a call.

Are sure the fan is actually changing speed? The recirculation door will open and close at times and the noise from the fan will change substantially.

Automatic Operation

The system automatically controls

the fan speed, air delivery, air

conditioning, and recirculation in

order to heat or cool the vehicle to

the desired temperature.

When the indicator light is on, the

system is in full automatic operation.

If the air delivery mode or fan

setting is manually adjusted, the

auto indicator turns off and displays

will show the selected settings.

To place the system in

automatic mode:

1. Press AUTO.

2. Set the driver and passenger

temperature.

To find your comfort setting,

start with 22 °C (72 °F) and

allow the system time to

stabilize. Then adjust the

temperature as needed for best

comfort.

To improve fuel efficiency and to

cool the vehicle faster, recirculation

may be automatically selected in

warm weather.

The recirculation light will not come

on when automatically controlled.

Press@to manually select

recirculation; press it again to select

outside air.

Do not cover the solar sensor on the

top of the instrument panel near the

windshield. This sensor regulates

air temperature based on sun load.

See “Sensors” later in this section.
