HagiborChayil Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 So I know there is a list of "factory upgrades" that some dealerships offer, whether they have them Installed themselves on site or use a mom and pops shop unimportant. I will do the work myself.. But I have seen the fun threads about upgrading from LT to LTZ mirrors, adding the full center co sole.. etc.. I was at a dealership looking at 14s and 15s last week.. My wife is a foot shorter than I am and the power adjustable pedals would be nice to have but somewhat difficult to come by around here apparently without going LTZ/SLT. I know that if I buy a LT/SLE. I would do a leather upgrade, add full center console, upgrade to LTZ mirrors, add the LED box lights (yay plug and play!).. but would portions of the LT plus package be add-able? The built in garage door opener and power adjustable pedals would be awesome if possible? The dealership said it was capable of adding the factory style heated seats because I like the buttons up front like that, I can easily add aftermarket but if I can keep it looking factory that would be awesome. They couldn't find any information on it but were fairly certain it was possible to do. So the question is, has anyone done it or seen it done. Adding the power adjustable pedals, home link (i think this is what's it's called), and factory heated seats.
newdude Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 The $$$ you spend on the upgrades might as well find a smoking deal on an LTZ, or an LT with leather and console already. Can't add factory heated seats btw, aftermarket only if the truck is already built.
aseibel Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 trying to install "factory" options after the truck is built will only result in costing you more for lesser quality. find the truck with all the options you want and buy it. Options are usually packaged together for less money than it would cost for you to pick and choose only a few.
Nick The Great Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I'd start an account on Autotrader or similar and check it multiple times per day. And/or email alerts. Especially if you're looking for used. New? I'd think the dealer would be able to find you what you wanted somewhere.

I believe Darth was able to achieve factory heated seats after the fact, but it was pretty involved. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/198884-tackling-factory-controls-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-the-gm-lin-bus/?hl=darth&do=findComment&comment=1953771 I would agree it's a lot easier to just find a truck with what you want ahead of time. I almost went with a truck without the center console, planning to add it afterwards, but was able to find one with it. And I'm sure glad I did.
Donstar Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Some options are nice to have but the base GM 1500 are well equipped and comfortable to drive. Many of the standard features today were options not too long ago. Unless you buy new, your primary focus needs to be on the condition and price.
SilveradoSaver Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 On my '15 LT it came with the power adjustable pedals from the factory. Not worth pouring all that money in to add those features after the fact, which some may not be possible. Dealership should be able to search local inventory for something that has the features you'd like.
Rosedog Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 You want to save money, you got to spend some money.
sk Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 My LT came with cloth seats but has: -- heated seats -- center console -- power pedals -- integrated trailer brake and a lot of other options. They are available in LT/SLE but like others said you need to look for one with the right package (mine is a Z71 with 2LT and some "Driver Convenience" packages).
