I just applied rain-x, and put brand new wipers this truck for the first time. I went with Bosch Icons because others on this forum recommended them. but I learned my lesson, the stupid little "push tab" or whatever the bracket is called- make sure you pick wipers that match it. its not like the good old hook models that fit everything.

I wouldn't buy the rain-x wipers if you already apply the liquid stuff by hand.

did you say you apply 5-8 coats of rain-x? doesn't 1 coat do the trick? it does fine for me.

the way I do it is spray the rainX on spread let dry to a haze spray on again spead and let dry to a haze don't wipe off just keep layering it on it makes it last much longer and works much better. I notices the Bosch icon blades don't work with our trucks the 2016 1500 the other models work but not the icons im assuming its the clip ???

Many good wiper blades are thrown away because no one ever cleans them. Wipe the rubber blade with rag and denatured alcohol. Keep wiping them until black no longer comes off on rag.

I am sure many change their wipers before it becomes necessary, but they are an inexpensive maintenance item that offers peace of mind.  My current wipers work well but I will be changing them before heading out on a long winter drive in December.  I am hoping more members will offer their brand preferences.

At least, wipe the wiper blades down good every time you wash the truck. Use the rag and clean some of the black residue off the blades should help them to last longer. It cost nothing to do this. I don't consider a pair of Bosche Icons cheap maintenance items.

I tried a set of these on my Silverado and despite installing the right connector and affixing to the arm correctly both would make about 5 passes and then fall off.  I would reinstall and the same thing would happen time and time again.  Bought Bosch Icons and the attachment seems much more study and actually stays on the wiper arm like it is supposed to.  Icons are a little more than $4 per, however.

I've used them on my old 93 Silverado,  the wife's 2007 Honda Accord, my 2012 Sierra and a 1985 Jeep Cherokee without issues.

Sorry you have trouble.

My buddy recommended them to me as he has used them on his Acuras for years also.  I think it has to do with the type of connector the 2014 and up trucks use.  Not sure why there have to be so many different styles.  There are half a dozen different connectors included with each blade purchase.

OEM for me. No worries about fit or performance. I get years from a properly maintained set.

True story. I drove back from Denver on East I-80 near Des Moines Iowa last spring in a rain so hard most traffic stopped and pulled off and what didn't was crawling under 30 mph. I was dong 65 mph with the wipers off with great vision. Rain X on a polished windshield.  OEM's wipers knocked of the trash when I got sprayed. Oh and yes, I wipe the rubbers often with Rain X or just soapy water and a microfiber as routine maintenance.

I always try and remember to clean wiper blade when washing truck I use a alchahol pad and clean until no more black residue comes off

New to post but have used this forum many times for info. Anyway for what its worth the bosch icons are spendy but worth it considering its your vision, never had a issue with them and in utah heavy to light snow always cleaned everything off no streaks.

Rain x wipers are fine. Bosch icons are the best. Keep using the rain x every time you wash the truck and your wipers will last years. I️ hardly ever use mine

Do you know witch Bosch isons fit the 2016 Silverado ? On Bosch website they claim the icons won't fit on the silverado. On Amazon they say the icon 22OE  are the right ones ? I want the wipers to fit properly to the factory part

I clean my wiper blades often with a rag and windshield washer fluid (full strength).  I'm still on my original blades that came with my 2011.  Also I have a winter set so 1/2 the time on each pair.

Bosch finally called me back today after 5 weeks of me leaving messages....  they are sending me a new set and I should expect them in about a week or so.
