Backup camera splitter

Wanted a easy solution for viewing trailer camera on screen without breaking the bank. Made my own harness to feed 2 cameras into factory module behind bumper. Installed a switch to turn off one if the cameras and it works. Now just have to get the camera on the trailer and hope the length of wire isnt too long. Heres version 1.0. When the weather gets warmer i will clean it up.182a1e0caa35191e3efe29a54cf7cc75.jpg

cmysstailights,

Can you provide a list of components used and a wiring diagram?  I have been wondering how I could add a trailer camera without spending $$$$$ they want for the factory camera upgrade.

Thanks,

This is very interesting I wonder if we could figure out a way to do this to add a front camera
This just adds a second camera input activated by reverse sense and a switch to turn of 12v to the other camera. No way i can see right now to easily add front camera for cheap.

I'm surprised our trucks don't come with a camera up front and a camera up top by the third brake light to watch out payload and trailer while we tow.
Its a option from the dealer, think its a 900 dollar one.

Hey that's a great Idea, do you have more information on how you made the splitter ? I would love to add a second camera to my trailer . I already added the camera system on my truck left right and front and I love it ,wroth the money and the time to install it.

Old thread I know.....   Can anyone please provide the part numbers for the plugs required here?   Very interested in doing this to add a backup camera to my camper and just have it display on the main screen when the camper is hooked up.

Thanks!!

Very nice; has to be cheaper than the dealer installed option, too.

ANY UPDATE AS TO CONNECTOR PARTS?  Planning a project that necessitates a splitter like this, and would love to build my own, if I could find the right connector parts/ pin-out information/ etc. Thanks!
