With the Duramax Package to replace my 15' 1500 AT.

Question is do I bother to order the Z71 Off-Road Suspension this time or just go with the standard suspension to get a less stiffer ride quality?

There is no different suspension for the Z71 option.

That's not a different suspension. The only thing there that might change the ride is the shocks.

Z71's are Rancho Off-Road Red Shocks , not sure what the Standard shocks are but they are not Rancho Off-Road shocks.

Correct. Easily swapped out.

You may wish to consider ordering a single axle 3500HD instead.  You'd be surprised how quick a 3/4 ton diesel truck can run out of payload with a heavy trailer.  The price difference is negligible, the payload difference is not.

I currently have a Z71 Package on my 1500 that I swapped out the stock Rancho's (which are bricks) to Rancho quickLIFT Loaded & RS9000XL's that are adjustable.

Same ride, the junk Rancho shocks do not chance ride at all, they are junk and are often leaking...

I would order the Z71 package regardless.

I have the base suspension and I think it is great.  However, I also don't notice things that other people find incredibly obvious and annoying, so there's that.

Too bad the 2500hd's do not have the magnetic ride shocks that the 1500 Denali has. That would be a different ride! My guess is that it would not hold up the added load a 2500 can handle.
