Thanks

Just curious looking to purchase this for a 18 Silverado. That said it’s for a 3500 just double checking I assume it’s the same?

If your looking to add extra cameras this would prob be a better option for you.  I was going to purchase this system but it's just out of my price range.  I like that you can mirror your phone on this system too.

Does anyone know the difference between this $499 kit and the single front camera that goes for $179???

I am assuming there are  other cameras in the $999 multi camera kit they sell maybe this $179 option just adds to that and doesnt have what it takes to hook up on its own.

Optional Single Front Camera System by EchoMaster® - Associated Accessories
Part No. 19367534

MSRP $179.00*

I Just got the camera over the weekend and plan on installing it within a couple days.  For those of you who installed it can u give me some pointers on any issues you had installing it?  I think the hardest part might be getting thru the firewall.  Also where is the best spot to mount the camera?  Any input would be great!!!

Thanks

The $499 kit includes the front camera and the processor that plugs into the vehicle which the cameras plug into.  The $179 is just the camera in case you already have one of the EchoMaster systems like the Intellihaul System in order to add it.

There is a large grommet that the main wiring harnesses passes through the firewall on the driver's side below the master cylinder.  There is a nipple at the top of that grommet that you can split open and pass the wiring through.  That is where I ran the one's I've installed as that is where EchoMaster recommends you to run it through.   I tape the harness to a long zip tie and pass it through the grommet.  It is easier if you remove the power distribution box that is on the inside where that harness comes through at.  To remove that, just unplug all the connectors and unsnap it from the bracket that it sits in.  I haven't installed any of these on a Chevrolet, only GMC and I mount the camera on the middle bottom of the "M".  I would try to mount the camera to the bottom of the bowtie if there is room.  If not, just find a center point in the grille area that has sufficient room.  Don't be surprised if you need to drill a hole to pass the harness through or possibly trim a little to create room.  Where I mount the camera on the GMC's, a hole needs drilled in the grille for the harness to pass through.

Just got finished. Took me about 2 hours total. Wasn’t very difficult. I did the exact thing u just state. That was def the hardest part of the entire project. I will post some pic later.

Here are a couple pics. Where I mounted the camera and where I ran the wife to get into the truck. For some reason I can’t put up any more pics. Lol. But so far I like the camera. Really haven’t had a chance to actually use it a lot but I will alter in today. I’m glad I got it.

I’m going to start this project this weekend. What did you tap into for the camera’s power source? Any tips on getting through the firewall grommet? I hear it’s a bit tricky.

I ran the cable passed the firewall to a rubber grommet found under the carpet by the driver's door.  The door sill trim is attached to the cover trim next to the emergency brake.  It all pops off easily by lifting up on the sill and allows you plenty of room to run your wire up to and under the dash and/or to a power source in the left side fuse panel.  I used an aftermarket wireless camera and monitor setup so just needed to use a fuse tap. I suspect your oem camera should have specific plug in or splice type wiring instructions. (?)
