After many days of reading I figured that I should join.  We own a 2015 Suburban and 2018 Traverse.  We replaced an 07 Suburban with the 2015 that has 37,000 miles on it and I want to keep tabs on the AFM since it is what caused us to trade the 07.  The 07 used 2 quarts of oil every 1500-2000 miles and had the service 4x4 light on so we felt that it was time to upgrade.  I see a lot of discussions around oil catch cans with DI engines and wanted to keep researching this.  My 07 Suburban and our previous 07 Acadia always had a ton of oil in the intake and back in my youth I would disassemble many engines that where just loaded with baked on oil on the valves.  Any restriction is a loss of power and efficiency.  The engine in my 86 Mustang, that is carbed and the oil goes into a Moroso catch can, is as clean as the day that I built the engine and I abuse the hell out of it.  So I bought a bore scope and will look into the 15 Suburban's intake and post pictures,  if it is dirty with 37,000 miles I will invest in a catch can, if the valves and intake look clean I will keep tabs on it.

Thanks for the site and useful information.
