Anyone have any idea how to get the black ring off? The spring disc door broke off inside.. I can’t seem to figure out how to get it out? So mad, literally bought this truck 2 weeks ago ... 2017 Silverado

I just used a paint spray can cap. Fits right over capless fill port and also works to hold the gas pump open so i don't have to hold it. Here in NY all the gas stations take off the pump handle holder.

Where can I buy this?  At least once a month, some scumbag steals gas out of my truck... I guess the best economy in 50 years and record low unemployment isn't enough for some people to just get an F'ing job, and they feel the need to steal gas from people...  I need a locking gas cap apparently...

Some will not want or be able to take /keep employment for reasons beyond job availability or the economy.  This has not changed.   How are thieves getting your fuel?  I thought syphoning gas was too difficult now and thieves were cutting lines.    I have a friend who leaves her car unlocked at night as she was tired of thieves damaging her car while looking for loose change.  Maybe leaving your gas filler unlocked prevents more costly damage!

No lines cut, but I don't think the anti-siphon tank works at all...  They can still snake a small tube down there if they want, it seems.  Been going on for many months, I see no signs of cuts or drilling, no leaks...  Just some lowlife too lazy to work feels they are entitled to what I work for.

One of these nights I hope to catch him on camera, or better yet, at the end of a 12ga shotgun, and hold him till the cops come to collect him...

I picked one of these up today at Lowe's. It fits PERFECT on my 2020 Silverado.

Thanks for the info.

You're lucky they don't just drill a hole in the bottom of your tank. Best to get some cameras on your truck to catch them. How about those driveway alarms. The ones that have a beam of light crossing your driveway. When the light beam is broken an alarm goes off in your house. Maybe you can rig that up somehow near or around your truck. Then have your 12 gauge ready.
