It looks like Ready Lift sells a kit for stamped steel that includes the replacement control arms in the 2.25" leveling kit for $499.95.  You could also just purchase the replacement control arms for $419.00 and I would assume use the RC 2" level if you wanted.

1) if you go over 2" (some say 2.5) it doesn't matter the brand...it is the new geometry the 'lift' is creating.  if you are that worried about it, just don't do it...

2) I cant say with 100% certainty, but I don't think that the 2" has had any complaints, and very many at all (the 2.5 might have some, but go above that, you will need to do more than just a spacer, control arms and shocks/struts, etc. if you don't that is where the problem lies)

3) it isn't RC, its the geometry...RC is just a national wildly popular brand...and the more users you get, the more complaints you get (but also you get thousands and thousands of happy customers, like me)

4) i have a written statement from my dealer that says a 2" level kit will not in any way affect the warranty or performance or create any additional wear on the vehicle...you can take that for what its worth, dealers say a lot of things, but i have it in writing.

5) to reiterate #1 if you are that worried about it, don't do it...it is your depreciating asset, no one here is going to give you money for a new front end if yours fails because you put a level or lift on it.

 

**I will put a 2" level on pretty much any 4wd I own, as long as they continue to make them nose heavy...I haven't had any popping or steering or suspension issues at all...

Thanks, hadnt seen this. Im trying to fit 20x10 -19 wheels with minimal trimming so 2.25 would prob be best. Would those proprietary ball joints be replaceable if needed down the line though?

According to comments in this ReadyLift video, "yes".  If you look at the comment on this video, someone asks that very question and there answer is "yes the ball joint is replaceable".  I'd probably still call to confirm, but it does appear that it's replaceable.

Thank you for contacting ReadyLIFT, I would be happy to answer some of your questions today. Our kit, 66-3086, is designed to replace the factory aluminum or stamped steel upper control arms from Chevy. Currently Chevy did not design the factory arms to be serviceable, when the ball joint wears out, the entire arm needs to be replaced. Because of this, there are no current ball joints being produced or sold for these arms. 

However, the arms we supply use our ball joints which can be sourced through a variety of vendors such as; 

Amazon
Summit Racing
Jegs
CarID
Etc. 

The replacement ball joint part number is 67-3414.

Stopped by a couple shops recommended by my dealer since I needed to kill time in the area.

 

One recommended the 2.5 RC spacer kit, I asked about the stamped UCA’s and they said they havent had any issues with them and theres no need to replace them. Then they suggested the 3.5 RC lift lol 

 

Other place installs their own 2.5 spacer kit, but also told me they have not had any issues with the stamped UCA’s

What year/model?  If you have purchased a new truck, I'd ask the dealer what they recommend and then have them do the install.  This is the best way, imo, to make sure any future suspension issues will be covered by warranty.  Some members do not trust their dealerships to perform such tasks but for those of us who are not gifted wrenchers  the dealer is usually the safest bet.

18 Sierra 1500. Dealer told me they dont install leveling kits and referred me to 3 shops in town, also stated there would be no issue with warranty, i have it written in email from the service manager. Ill end up doing it myself with either the readylift kit or the cognito arms and a 2.5 kit

I'm startin to wonder what the guy was doing to pop the upper balljoint out of the stamped steel uca.  Not meant for wheeling I'm thinking.

He hit a pot hole, not a large one by his description.  There is also a thread on here where somebody spotted a truck on the side of the road with the same set-up and the upper control arm was completely separated from the knuckle.   If you look at the geometry (or the crappy pic I took) you can see where the angle is high, and if you examine a stamped arm you can see how they are VERY light duty.  I mean, the ball joint is literally sandwiched in between two pieces of 16 ga? or so steel stick welded together...

I haven’t rolled up under with a flashlight but do I assume since I have an ‘18 I have the stamped UCAs for sure?   Or might I have the alum or steel?
