Been reading on this topic a lot.  Bought a 2018 Z71 & fuel mileage is pretty darn good compared to my 2000 Z71 I had.  My problem is I just had dual exhaust (cat back) put on using a Magnaflow muffler and when it runs in V4 mode it sounds aweful.  Reading the forums that is a common complaint.

Yep, I have the Borla ATAK (loud) and use the Range AFM disable module. Never using V4 (to me) is much more advantageous than using the AFM. Sounds great and I believe it minimizes the risk of AFM lifter failure.

I've been following this closely to see the pros and cons of the Range. It seems to be way more pros than cons. I just ordered a Range after installing a Borla S Type cat back exhaust system. It drones at around 1500 rpm in V4 and it sounds no so great.

When V4 is off it sounds good. We'll see how it works in a few days when I get it.

What's the best Afm disabler out there?

As far as I know there is only the Range. Tuners will also do the same thing and add a few hp too.

I like my warranty though so I just went with the Range.

Also I would buy it directly from Range. Then you get the latest software.

They have a 10 dollar off code on their website so its $189.00

I've been seeing that discount for awhile now. I just found out from another post that it will work with 2018 eAssist despite what the crazy lady at Range is telling me. Now just gotta get it shipped to me in CA. Been driving in L7 all over the place and sometimes wishing I had the 8th to go into, but now it's a reality!

I picked up my Range AFM yesterday, scored a decent deal off eBay and luckily it already had the newest version installed. I instantly noticed a difference in driveability, much snappier throttle response (even with my pedal commander) and have yet to see it drop into v4 or throw any CELs. Driveability alone makes this a must have, the truck is finally starting to feel like it should have come from factory - can't wait to feel how it drives with the updated pedal, with these other items running together.

I just picked a used one off eBay as well since I can’t find a vendor that would ship to CA. Let’s see how well this works with eAssist.

I've had my Range for about 250 miles now and I like it. Totally took care of the drone I got in V4 at 1500 rpm since I installed the Borla S Type catback exhaust system.

I don't notice any difference in mpg's yet but I haven't driven enough yet.
