DISAPPOINTING 2019 Chevy Powertrain / Gearing options

It had some spunk in it, was spritely off the line.  Any 8000lb+ truck that can yield 0-60 mph is moving PDQ off the line.  It's just fact, 4.10 is putting down lots more torque on the job.
2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Double Cab 4X4Compare0-60 mph 6.2 | Quarter mile 14.8
2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Crew Cab 4X4Compare0-60 mph 6.9 | Quarter mile 15.2

Uh...that 0-60 at 6.2 seconds and 14.8 second 1/4mi on a 2500hd is with the Duramax Diesel, not a 6.0.  Link to those EXACT stats for proof:  https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15094113/2017-chevrolet-silverado-2500hd-4x4-diesel-tested-review/

Using a test of a bare bones 2017 2500hd regular cab 2wd (the lightest possible 6.0 configuration), 8.14 seconds 0-60 and 15.95 1/4 mi is the quickest I can find instrumented:  https://news.pickuptrucks.com/2017/03/whats-the-best-34-ton-work-truck-for-2017.html

6.0 is a good, no, great motor.  Having owned 3 of them over the years, its no 5.3 in the performance department and definitely no 6.2.

Thanks.  The real point is the 4.10 vs 3.73, the 4.10 is going to provide more torque, (more spunk) whatever you want to call it off the line.  The setup in the 2500HD is slower as you get into the higher gears (3rd, 4th) and slower on the top end speed.

Eh.  I had a 2015 HD, never felt more "spunk" as the truck itself is heavier than a 1/2 ton.  Weight offsets the "performance" gain.  The 4.10's kill the power than can be had in that 4.08 ratio 1st gear.  The new 6.6 L8T with the 6L90 and 3.73 AND being heavier yet than the 2015-2019 HD feels faster than a 6.0 with 6L90 and 4.10 gears.  But that truck needs the 10L90 and that's a whole other story...

With no disrespect to anyone on this forum, I don't really understand why folks (Car and Driver, for example) feel the need to compare 0 to 60 or quarter mile times on trucks. I'm not going to be drag racing my truck, I just want to be able to haul and tow with ease while returning the least bad fuel economy possible. Unlike all the other people living in my city, I don't feel the need to race from red light to red light so I can sit there the longest.

There are people who like to enjoy the vehicle they

drive and there are people who think of there vehicle as just an appliance.

Is the only way to get a 6.2 with 4 low in a trail boss?  If thats the case is the maximum tow rating 9500?  I can't seem to configure the RST with a 2 speed transfer case or the ltz.  My perfect setup would be the RST 6.2 10 speed with 4 low and max tow or next would be the LTZ 6.2 10 speed with 4 low and max tow but I can not seem to set those up.  3rd would be the TB 6.2 but I'd like a higher tow rating than 9500.

I thought in 2019 the 6.2s all came with the 2 speed transfer case, regardless of the package (NHT, Z71, etc.). But they could have changed that for 2020.

Yes, as @Cpl_Punishment said, the 6.2 includes the 2 speed transfer case as standard, no matter what. Still the same for 2020. I know the online build tool doesn’t exactly advertise it though.

Footnote #2 is the RST optional equipment requirements. Footnote #3 is LTZ.

Looks like it.

He said with a 3.73 10 speed....I didn't see where your post listed the gear ratio, only the trans....

I believe when you get the gas version the 10 speed comes with a 3.42 or 3.23 depending on options of the vehicle, in order to get the 3.73, I think it has to be a diesel like the op asked?

Unless I miss understood what he was asking for? If he was asking if a diesel was available in that model trim then your answer was perfect, and I miss understood his question.....
