That’s crankcase pressure from a blown piston pushing the dipstick up and blowing the oil out.... JUST KIDDING.... I hope.

Me too, this is happening with a brand new, zero miles off the shelf engine. Hoping they just did not get the dip stick tube seated in correctly or the filter is loose, but don't think it is the filter. Just really want my truck back in my possession.

Thanks, looks like that is what I will be relying on now.

Hood stays on, just propped straight up after removing the two bolts holding the springs to the hinge.Trans stays in, pretty straight forward job, cooling fans removed, cooling system drained and hoses disconnected, wiring harnesses are moved aside, exhaust disconnected but engine pipe stays in the truck.Intake manifold comes off before the engine is pulled so you can access upper trans bellhousing bolts and fuel pipes, evap pipes etc. AC evacuated and lines removed from compressor , starter ,torque converter bolts and motor mount bolts and thats pretty much it.I pull the right side exhaust manifold while in the truck to allow the engine to turn side ways to get it out past the radiator support and the firewall, tight squeeze but it goes in and out without damage.

Hoping you see this post, CEL came on today with the new engine, P0340. Any ideas why, human error, bad recycled parts. This is getting old fast.

Yikes... Sorry to hear about your continued difficulties.

I haven't seen the CEL since getting mine back... But now dealing with the fact my rims were stolen. When it rains, it pours.

Have them check the connector by the front left corner of the oil pan by the vacuum pump. The terminals may have backed out or it may not be seated all the way. That is a cam position code, have also seen that connector turn green from corrosion.Sorry to hear about all your problems. What was the oil leak?

Telling me that it was the residuals from the mess they left behind swapping engines. Hoping the CEL is something easy, then I can wait for the next problem? Frustrating part is this was the best Chevy I have had, 2 little problems which I fixed myself, otherwise bulletproof, now it lives at the dealership.

How about this, Camshaft position sensor relearn? Something I should mention?

Any new issues?

Not instilling much confidence in my 2017 Burb. I let go of a 2009 with AFM issues and figured they had this stuff worked out by now. Good grief

No problems with the AFM since the warranty work was completed. Been running great.

Now the XM/wifi antenna that was not properly sealed to the roof and was letting water leak in, that's another story. Fixed now but a $60k truck that has a water leak is depressing.

I’m having the same issue -need new lifters and the cam shaft rod is bent - with my 2017 Tahoe and the dealership is telling me $9,000 to replace it. I’m 10k over the warranty. Do you all know if there’s a recall or anything since this seems to be a normal problem?

GM is really putting it to me on my 2015 Yukon Denali. I’m at right at 80k miles and my 5 year / 100k expired in February and passenger side bank on mine has a collapsed lifter. They’re only wanting to cover $800 of the repair and only replace the passenger side bank AFM/DOD lifters. I tried to call them directly and they’re giving me the run around. Ridiculous and poor craftsmanship and poor customer service. They should get rid of the AFM/DOD. My Camaro ZL1 seems to be one of the last vehicles GM did right :(
