Drivetrain noise just developed

Recently I've noticed some drive train noise in my 2014 Sierra Denali with my transfer case in AUTO.  It goes away if I select it to 2WD. I have about 73 K miles on the truck.  Just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Ever change the transfer case fluid/diff?

If it's a whining noise it's coming from one of the control modules down by the gas peddle.

 

My 2014 started to do it at 60,000 Kilometers so 37,000 miles.
 

My 2016 started doing now to at 61,000 Kilometers.

 

The thing just makes noise when it ages.

It goes away when i swap it to 2 High.

Do you only hear it while accelerating in auto or 4 hi? My Sierra has done that for quite some time (even after a front axle and T-case fluid change).

Im assuming your not doing this on dry pavement. If you are that noise is normal

I don't think it's hurt to change the fluid, 73,000 miles is more than justifiable if you haven't already. I have heard a whine noise coming from the transfer case in my older GM trucks - that's probably because I accidentally was driving around in awd for a week - I find these things don't handle awd like you'd think. Caught myself doing it once in my 2018...cleaned the interior, accidentally must have switched it into awd. Maybe put 40 mikes on it...started hearing a whining noise...thought, oh great here we go again.
