The way I see it GM is manipulating MY IPhone not their IPhone. GM through their internal app intentionally lowers my phone volume when I push the ignition switch to turn on the motor of the truck but when truck is turns off the app doesn't increase the volume back to its original setting and its caused me to miss several important calls.
If GM doesn't fix this issue and eliminate this function I'll be forced to execute a lawsuit against GM

You also have the choice of using the work around that’s been discussed or simply even unpairing your phone & plugging it in.

Dudes I have Great News. When I pulled up to park on Tuesday afternoon and cut the truck off  a message came up on the radio screen that a system update was available. Said it would take 13 minutes and you could not start the truck lock or unlock after the update was started. I hit the start button and let it do its thing for 13 minutes. After this update was installed the phone (IPhone 7) volume still lowers when bluetooth connects HOWEVER IT NOW GOES BACK UP TO the previous full volume when the bluetooth disconnects. Life is Good Again LOL GM FIXED IT!

That could be great news if GM released another update in the last few days. What year is your truck, and can you please post the software version number?

truck is a 2019 Denali Ultimate unfortunately I did not get a pic of the update so I do not know the exact description but remember it said that it would take 13 minutes to do and had something to do with the entertainment/phone system. Funny thing is I did not even notice the phone turning back up after disconnecting until a day or so later. Never even thought about the update affecting that but hey I am very happy that it WORKED for that. Keep a close eye on your center screen and you should see the update request when you stop and cut the truck off. Just follow instructions on the screen and you will be good to go!

now if I can get the wheels and tires to stop trying to shake off the truck, Life will be good again........

You can go to the info page and get the current software version.

I am not aware of any new updates to correct the volume problem

2020 Blazer. I have the problem with iPhone XR ringer volume turning down low after attaching to Bluetooth in vehicle. Applied fix suggested earlier in this thread. Seems to work sometimes but not consistently. Was hoping recent IOS 13.4 update would help. It didn’t. So now hoping GM comes up with a fix soon..

only fix is to have GM disable the muting all together. Turn truck on, immediately system mutes your phone, turn truck off and no more communication between truck and phone. Theres no fix other that disabling

Same issue with my 2019 Sierra. It’s gotten to the point where I am leaving Bluetooth off on my phone because I was missing so many calls. I am on the road for my job so countless times per day in and out- indubitably I would forget to check my ring volume on one of those trips and I’d miss numerous calls as a result.

2021 Silverado RST, purchased in Oct. I have all of the same issues as well.
Btw, I just upgraded to the new I phone 12 and that did not change anything at all. I came from an I phone 11. Puzzled?

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
