Just looked it up, it’s $20 plus taxes per month, not $10

Sent from above

I was just using the $10 figure that was  stated in the post prior to mine.  My actual payment is $11.19 per month.

Hmmm, wonder why I’m quoted double.

Yep, I bought mine is November as well and it expired 2 weeks ago. I called them a day before because I couldn't remember if they had my credit card number or not. They offered to do the app and the safety features for 14.99 a month but I declined. Now nothing on the app works. It was a cool feature to have but I wasn't going to pay that much for it. I guess they figure a guy that buys a $50,000 truck will pay for the service, but I'm not going to. If they had some kind of deal that you could activate it when you were going on a road trip, I would do that. We are going to Florida in April, about 700 miles each way, I would pay $15 for that month. We usually go somewhere the week of the 4th as well. I would gladly pay the 15 for those 2 months.

I think you should be able to do that. Just sign up for the month and don't renew? I'm on a month to month plan.

Guess it depends on what kind of deal you can get from them. I was paying $24.99 for the Security plan(with my basic 5/yr plan included). Then after a couple months, they sent me an email for a promo of getting the exact plan for $10 less. So now I'm paying $14.99

Good luck! I see people spending way more on coffee everyday, $14.99 a month for peace of mind is worth it to me.. :)

To me it’s not really the money, it’s the principle. I’m sick of getting nickel and dime, it gets old especially now a days where we’re relying on so much technology in our lives that we really just don’t need. I got back two months ago from overseas, spent time taking in the gorgeous views and found myself staring at a couple old guys at the cafe, they looked so happy, no cell phones, no social media etc etc, I found myself longing for a bit of that. You just feel more planted with less technology. Ok, be safe

Just an FYI guys.  If youre in a serious accident and the OnStar button is your only option to call for help theyre not going to not help you out just because you don't pay them a monthly fee.

They would be liable if they didn't send help.

I thought the button doesnt connect with them unless you have a plan?

You don't even need to push the blue button. If the air bags deploy it automatically calls OnStar . Probably faster than someone could call 911.

All I know is mine or my Wife's life is worth more than the monthly fee.

If you were to get in an accident and didn't have a OnStar subscription and really need help and couldn't call 911 what would you do? Especially if you were out in the boonies.

I couldn't live with myself if something like that happened because I was too cheap to pay the monthly fee. Just saying.

It will connect plan or no plan. If you look in the owners manual of any vehicle with OnStar it says to push the button to connect and speak with an OnStar rep. When I set it up in my CTSV I did it in the car while driving home from the dealer.
