Climate Control Off Msg

Recommended Posts

I got in the truck tonight after autostarting it from the phone app. I got in the truck and hit the start button like normal.  When I adjusted the fan speed the infotainment screen displayed "Climate Control Off" at the bottom where it usually gives a quick view of the climate settings.    So, I clicked on the message and it displayed an on/off button on the screen.  If I pressed that it turned the actual climate controls on or off but still displayed nothing for climate controls.  If I hit the quick access icon at the bottom of the screen (red button) for climate control the  same message displays again.  No climate control screen at all.

I looked around the infotainment menu to see if I somehow turned it off but didn't see anything.

Am I missing something or is this a glitch?

Had the same thing happen to me about a week ago.

Infotainment screen said climate was off even though it was on.  I could change fan speed, temp, etc, using the manual controls.

Next time I got in the truck it was working again and hasn't done it since.

I figured it was a bug that worked itself out.

Just an update-

Mine has done this again twice since my original post.

Guess when I get my first free oil change I'll have them look at it...

Bump to see if anyone else is experiencing this?

I get this at least once/week.  I'm gonna have it looked at next time...

Normal occurrence on mine. I notice when it happens I get a Sirius xm message. Not sure what relationship there may be. I do know I have all the updates and it takes along time for it to boot up. Seems like if I wait a minute or so before I put it in gear, things work better. Maybe not, but seems somehow related.

Anyone got a fix, thought today’s update would do it, but looks like trip to the dealer is necessary

Mine did this today after getting in and starting it. Yesterday one of my profiles disappeared along with a few software apps. I think GM is doing some configuration changes. My Message App for that profile was gone also. So today I was configuring the profile and after starting the truck to get access to the other Settings, the Climate control was working.

I missed your thread about this, I just posted a thread for the same issue. I’ve seen it 4-5 times now and it’s annoying.

No fix that I’ve found. Haven’t taken it in yet, just got my truck back for some recalls and other issues and not ready to give it back to them. I just wanna drive my truck

I wish that was the case. Water leaking from the rear window seems common in early builds. There's a thread with a couple hundred posts on it.

Yeah, I have 4,400 mikes on my Trail Boss and got this message for first time on like Thursday.  Lasted until Saturday, every time I started it.  Went back to normal Saturday evening and was fine all day Sunday. Hopefully there is a fix for it.

Just bought 2019 1500 GMC Denali 4WD and the Climate App AC controls works On & Off.  Very annoying. 2X this week so far.

Hope they find a FIX!?

Hey if you wanted everything to work you should have got a Ford. But, you chose the new girl and she has a few warts.

But for a new girl, she sure is a smooth ride

    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
    • Thanks for posting, I'm sure it will help someone
    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
